WINAMAC - Jennie Phillips, 89, of 624 E. 13th St., Winamac, died at 8:20 p.m., Thursday, March 25, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Hammond, to Anthony and Mary Novak Bieniewicz. She married Elmer "Bud" Phillips Jr. on Sept. 20, 1941 in Knox. He died Feb. 26, 1990.
Survivors include: Candy L. (Jay) Bitterling, Winamac, Daughter & son-in-law Jason (Christy) Bitterling, Winamac, Grandson & companion Jamie A. (Dan) Wenzler, Kewanna, Granddaughter & husband Jesse E.(Rhonda) Bitterling, Star City, Grandson & wife 11 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by: Leslie Phillips, Grandson 1 Sister 5 Brothers
Mrs. Phillips was a member of the First Christian Church in Winamac. She had lived in Winamac since 1986. She was a former resident of Knox, and Franklin. She had worked at several grocery stores in Knox.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday (March 30), at the funeral home with Rev. Glen Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
Memorial donations may be given to First Christian Church.

MEDARYVILLE - Sandra C. Humphrey, 60, 15852 W 200 N, Medaryville, died at 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 2, 1949, in Rensselaer, to Cecil and Irene McCarty Mitchell. She married George "Peanut" Humphrey on June 3, 1972, in Rensselaer. He survives.

Mrs. Humphre had worked for many years as a beautician for Claudine Childers. She had also been a cook in various restaurants in the area.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Friday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel Francesville. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon (Friday, March 26), at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Helton officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Medaryville.

FRANCESVILLE - Alma Lovene Ewing, 88, of 303 N. Bill St., Francesville, passed away at 3:31 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, at Rensselaer Care Center in Rensselaer.
She was born June 26, 1921, in Medaryville, to Chris and Irinda Farrar Linback. She married Robert C. Ewing on Aug. 29, 1940 in Idaville. He passed away Sept. 15, 2008.

Mrs. Ewing was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church in Francesville. She was a life member of the VFW Auxillary 1728 in Winamac.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday. at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel-Francesville. The VFW Auxillary will conduct a service at 6 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday (March 27), at the funeral home with Rev. Lynn Rosiejka officiating. Burial will be in Koster Cemetery, Francesville.

FRANCESVILLE - Barbara J. Gildon, 59, of Francesville, died at 2 a.m., Saturday, March 20, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was was born to Donna and Byron McBride on Dec. 13, 1950 in Musselshell County, Montana. She a married James Gildon on Oct. 5, 1986 in Gary, at the First Church of God. He survives.

Mrs. Gildon accepted Christ in her adult years and became a member of the Medaryville Assembly of God Church. Barbara completed Bible studies at Indiana Christian Bible College. She had received a Ministerial Certificate and Ministerial Commission from the Church of God in Anderson. She was a student at Berean School of the Bible/ Global University for Ordination.
Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m., Friday, at Medaryville Assembly of God. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., (Friday, March 26), at the church with Rev. Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery in Hanging Grove Township, Jasper County.

MEDARYVILLE - Clinton Mullins, 79, of 4455 N 1400 W, Medaryville, passed away at 1:53 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, in Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
He was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Salyersville, KY, to William and Gracie Wireman Mullins.
Survivors include: Kerry R. (Sandra) Mullins, West Lafayette, Son Krystal L. (Paul) Poe, Lafayette, Granddaughter Kevin L. Mullins, West Lafayette, Grandson Hannah L. Poe, Lafayette, Great Granddaughter Many Nieces and Nephews

Mr. Mullins was a former employee of Monon Trailer, Monon, and Talbert's, Rennselaer. He frequented the North Judson Jamboree. He was a former resident of the Sand Hill, and Hanging Rock, OH. He lived in Medaryville for many years.
Friends may call after 12 noon, Saturday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., (Saturday, Feb. 27), at the funeral home with Pastor James Rowe officiating. Burial will be in the Haver Hill Cemetery, Franklin Furnace, OH.

FRANCESVILLE - Carolyn Jo Markin, 73, of 228 N. Brown St., Francesville, passed away at 12:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, at her residence in Francesville.
She was born May 15, 1936, in LaPorte, to Ralph and Alma Shankland Hoover. She married Donald Markin on May 15, 1955 in Winamac. He survives.

Mrs. Markin was a homemaker. She had worked as a cook in Francesville. She also worked as a sales clerk at the lumber yard and at the Cooperative Elevator in Francesville. She had been an Avon sales representative. She was a member of the Francesville First Christian Church. She had also been a member of the VFW Auxillary in Logansport.
