Charles R. Madlung

WINAMAC - Charles R. Madlung, 88, of 299 W. Monroe St., Talbotton, GA, formerly of Winamac,  passed away at 1:41a.m., Saturday, May 1, at his residence.j

He was born June 28, 1921, in Reynolds, the son of James and Edith Seymour Madlung.  He married Donna M. Lizenby on March 5, 1946 in Medaryville, IN. She died May 13, 2004.

Mr. Madlung was a former resident of Reynolds,   Monon,  and Winamac. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1728 in Winamac. He was a lifelong farmer in Pulaski County. He had worked at Case Implement Co. in Winamac. He had also worked at Singer/Eaton Co. in Winamac and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Talbotton, GA Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary.
 

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be  at 11 a.m., Saturday (May 8), at the funeral home with Roscoe Cummins officiating.Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.

Blaine Pitts

April 22, 1945 to April 20, 2010

KNOX - Blaine Pitts, 65, Monterey, died Tuesday, April 20.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Thelma Smith of Tennessee, Jean Hatfield of Monterey, Maudie Eberhardt of Brownsburg, Loucinda Myers of Culver, Lisa Ann Miller of Kewanna, Jay C. Pitts and Les Pitts, both of Rochester.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.

M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox, is in charge of arrangements.

Gregory Allen Stoner

January 13, 1957 to April 25, 2010
 

MEDARYVILLE - Gregory Allen Stoner, 53, of 14621 W 450 N, Medaryville, passed awayat 9:35 p.m.,, Sunday, April 25, in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

He was born Jan. 13, 1957, in Rushville,  to Robert Nelson and Carolyn Sue Grocox Stoner. He married Charolette Jean Woodard Salyer on June 19, 1999, in Medaryville. She survives.

Mr. Stoner was a member of the Medaryville Assembly of God Church.

Friends may call after 11 a.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., (Friday, April 30), at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial will be in White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.

Mitzi Buckley

January 13, 1941 to April 15, 2010
 

WINAMAC - Mitzi Buckley, 69, 3058 Pheasant Run Drive, Lafayette, passed away at 11 a.m., April 15, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 13, 1941, in Medaryville, the daughter of Everett Russell and Vivian Jewel Shepperd Odle. She married Ralph Buckley Dec. 26, 1970 in Medaryville. He died Feb. 14, 1976.

Mrs. Buckley was a member of the Church Alive in Lafayette. She was a beatician. She was the former owner of the Country Scene Headquarters beauty shop in Rensselaer, from 1978-1985. She also had a the Mitzi's barber and beauty shop in Lafayette, where she worked with the residents of Rose Walk Village nursing home.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Monday (April 19), at White Post Cemetery, Medaryville, with Pastor Owen Mason officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to Simon Cancer Center IU Med Center, Indianapolis.

WINAMAC - Robert M. Fritz, 59, of 342 E. Galbreath Drive, Winamac, passed away at 3:17 p.m., Thursday, April 15, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

He was born Sept. 11, 1950, in Winamac, to Robert G. and Bernice M. Kruger Fritz.

Mr. Fritz was a retired truck driver for Diamond Trucking, Peru. He was a member of the Teamster's Local 135. He had attended Calvary Baptist Church, Winamac. He was very active with the re-enactment of the 1800's.

Friends may call after 12 noon, Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Friday, April 23), at the funeral home. Burial will be in Idle Cemetery, Francesville.

WINAMAC - Jack Nimz, 87, 542 W 100 S, Winamac, died at 6:43 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, at St. Vincent Hospital Medical Center, Indianapolis.

He was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Winamac, to Ernest and Edna Taylor Nimz.

Mr. Nimz was a life long resident of Winamac. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Teamster's Union. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Friends may call after 11a.m., Saturday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Saturday (April 17), at the funeral home with Nelda Buckardt officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.
