Doris Dilts

October 30, 1919 to April 13, 2010

WINAMAC - Doris Dilts, 90, of 624 E. 13th St., Winamac,  died at 6:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.

She was born Oct. 30, 1919, in O'Fallon, IL, to Roy and Jane Carr Alexander. She married John A. Dilts on April 27, 1946 at O'Fallon, IL. He died July 3, 1981.

Mrs. Dilts graduated from O'Fallon High School in O'Fallon, IL and from Rubrcam Business College in St. Louis. During World War II she worked as a secretary in headquarters at Scott Field, (now Scott Air Force Base). It was there that she met her husband John. Rev. Leo Smith married them in the base chapel. She had been employed as a secretary at Singer Controls, (later Eaton Corp) in Winamac for 26 years. After retiring from Eaton, she worked for Beach Real Estate and the Winamac TV Cable Co. for 10 years.

She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Winamac and had served on the Parish Council. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, and Ladies of Charity. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, American Legion Auxillary and Delta Sigma Tau Social Sorority.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary.  A scriptural wake service will begin at 7 p.m.,  Thursday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday (April 16), At St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Martin Sandhage and Rev. Bert Woolson officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to Winamac Athletic Boosters or the charity of the donor's choice. 

Lenore R. Kline

May 17, 1916 to April 8, 2010
 

WINAMAC - Lenore R. Kline, 93, of 6406 East 300 North, Monterey, passed away at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at her daughter's home in Jacksonville, FL.

She was born May 17, 1916, in Monterey,  to John Richard and Ruth Reinhold Overmyer. She married Clifton P. Kline on May 1, 1938 in Leiters Ford. He passed away March 16, 2004.

Mrs. Kline was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School for many years.  She was a former 4-H Leader.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday,  at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday (April 16), at the funeral home with Pastor Dorothy Jones officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Rita E. Mrozinski

WINAMAC - Rita Elaine Mrozinski, 85, 619 N. Ewing Dr., Winamac, passed away at 11:55 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, at Triumph Our Lady of Peace Hospital, Mishawaka.

She was born March 22, 1925, in Detroit,  to Henry and Jaunitta Spencer Bartek. She married William Mrozinski on Feb. 13, 1965, in Winamac. He passed away on April 8,1997.

Mrs. Mrozinski lived in Winamac since 1955, coming from Logansport. She served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post #71, Winamac. She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Winamac, and had served as secretary of the council at the church. She was a former employee of Thermo Products in North Judson where she was a marketing assistant and manager of the printing department. She was the former manager of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles office in Winamac. She also served on the board of directors of Kewanna Metal Specialities, Kewanna. 

Mrs. Mrozinski recently retired as a 31-year member and 26 years as chairwoman of the board of trustees of Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac. She was instrumental in establishing the Pulaski County Arts Association and served a term as president. She was also instumental in the creation of the Pulaski County Family YMCA.

Mrs. Mrozinski was the 1999 recipient of the Harold J. Halleck Community Service Award from the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce. She had been active in the local, state and national Democrat Party. She was named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Frank Obannon. She was given the Award of Merit by the Indiana Hospital Health Association, and was named the 2000 Area One Senior of Year.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac; and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday (April 12), at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Winamac, with Pastor Carl Fitchett officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.

Memorial donations may be given to: Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxillary, the Pulaski Memorial Hospital or the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Winamac.

Marjorie Culp

October 8, 1925 to April 7, 2010

FRANCESVILLE - Marjorie Culp, 84, 619 W. Montgomery St., Francesville, passed away at 1 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, at Rensselaer Care Center, Rensselaer.

She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Ford County, IL, to Jacob and Irene Boardman Gerbracht. In 1942, she married Clyde Clark Culp in Monon. He passed away Sept. 8, 1998.

Cyril Vernal Conn

November 17, 1917 to April 4, 2010

 

Winamac - Cyril Vernal Conn, 92, of 624 E. 13th St., Winamac,  passed away at 5 a.m., Sunday, April 4, in Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.


He was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Winamac, to William and Edna Conner Conn. He married Louise Loretta Malecki on May 14, 1949, in North Judson. She died June 26, 1997.

Mr. Conn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Winamac. He was also a member, past secretary and past master of Winamac Masonic Lodge #262 F&AM, life member of the South Bend Scottish Rite, Pulaski-Starke Shrine Club, and the ORAK Shrine in Hammond. He was a volunteer driver who took many children to the Shrine Hospital in Chicago.

Mr. Conn served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was a life member of VFW Post #1728, Winamac. He was a former custodian at the Pulaski County Court House, Winamac.

Friends may call after 12 noon Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Masonic services will be held at 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., (Wednesday, April 7), at the funeral home with Nelda Buckardt officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services. 

Memorial donations may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, Winamac. 

Nancy A. Reynolds

July 3, 1951 to April 1, 2010
 

WINAMAC - Nancy A. Reynolds, 58, of 205 East 33rd Street Apt. B Marion,  formerly of Winamac, passed away at 3:55 a.m., Thursday, April 1,  in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born July 3, 1951, in Winamac,  to Chester and Betty Frazier Reynolds.

Ms. Reynolds was a member of the Marion Unity Christian Church in Marion. She enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School. She was a 1970 graduate of Winamac Community High School. She was a graduate of Ball State University and a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. She was a retired special education teacher. She had taught at J.C. Knight Elementary School in Jonesboro. She had also worked for PARC in Winamac.

Friends may call from 12 Noon until the time of services Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. (Monday, April 5), at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Abbott officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to United Cerebral Palsy. 

Janice E. Hogan Graham

January 10, 1958 to March 21, 2010

KEWANNA - Janice E. (Hogan) Graham, 52 of Kewanna, passed away at 7:38 p.m., Sunday, March 21, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

She was born Jan. 10, 1958 in Rochester, the daughter of John E. "Jack" and Florence (Brown) Hogan. On March 5, 1988 she married Eldon "Ozzie" Graham in Kewanna, and he preceded in death Feb. 21, 2007.

Survivors include her mother, Florence Hogan of Kewanna; three daughters, Stephanie Malchow and her husband, Mike of Rochester, Jamie Smith of Monticello, Wendy Shock and husband, Jonathon of Kewanna; three sisters, Kathleen Dees and her husband, Rudy of Visalia, California, Wendy J. Kelly and her husband, Daniel of West Lafayette, Alice L. White and her husband, Darrell of Winamac; brother, Michael E. Hogan of Kewanna; and 5 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Hogan, husband, Ozzie Graham and one sister, Linda Federer.

Mrs. Graham was employed at Winamac Coil Spring in Kewanna where she worked in quality control. She was a 1976 graduate of Kewanna High School. She was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary VFW Post 1121. She was a regular volunteer at the Special Olympics.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and also one hour before the time of service at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (March 25), at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Meneely will officiate. Burial will be in Citizens IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna.
