Walter E. Doty

August 8, 1940 to August 11, 2010
 

WINAMAC - Walter E. Doty, 70, of 707 S. East Street Knox,  died at 12:15 a.m.,  Wednesday, Aug. 11,  at his residence in Knox.

He was born Aug. 8, 1940, in Winamac, to James Edward and Grace Estella Widner Doty.

Survivors include:

Several nieces and nephews

Mr. Doty was a former resident of Monterey.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday (Aug. 14), at the funeral home with Pastor James Adcock officiating. Burial willbe in Reed Cemetery, Winamac.

Carolyn M. Blameuser

January 26, 1938 to July 30, 2010

KEWANNA - Carolyn M. Blameuser, 72, of Kewanna, formerly of Winamac, passed away at 9:20 a.m., Friday, July 30, at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Born Jan. 26, 1938 in Low Point, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John M. and Violet (Ehrhardt) Call. On Oct. 6, 1959, she married Frank C. Blameuser. He survives.

Also surviving are sons, Frank M. Blameuser of Kewanna and Bernard A. Blameuser of Star City, daughters, Connie M. Smith of Winamac and Cathie Blameuser Werich of Kewanna, brother, John Call of Illinois and grandchildren, Ozzy Blameuser of Kewanna, Arthur Smith of Winamac, Aaron Shelton of Monticello and Isaiah Werich of Kewanna.

She was preceded in death by a son, Christian J. Blameuser.

Carolyn formerly owned and operated Winamac Floral Shop for over 20 years.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m., Monday, at the Kewanna Chapel of Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., where there will be a scripture service at 8:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday (Aug. 3) at the funeral home. Father Martin Sandhage will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in North Judson.

James Dobson

December 19, 1929 to August 10, 2010

WHEATFIELD - James G. "Jim" Dobson, 80, Winamac, passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 10, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital Winamac.

He was born Dec. 19, 1929 in Vest, KY, the son of Coet and Hattie (Messer) Dobson.  On Dec. 18, 1954, in Rensselaer, Jim married Delores Howard who survives.

Also surviving are four children, Bill Dobson, Washington, IN, Don (Deb) Dobson, Brenda (Joe) Krulik, and Steve (Michelle) Dobson, all of Winamac; 11 grandchildren, Billy Dobson, Jr., Brent Dobson, Alyssa Dobson, Chantel Dobson, Heather (Brian) Sanders, Travis (Melony) Dobson, Brad (Erica) Dobson, Shawn Krulik, Trenton Krulik, Lacie (Tyler) Gutwein and Spencer Dobson; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Sanders, Kailey Sanders, Michaela Majercin, Emma Dobson, and Shelby Dobson; three step great-grandchildren,  Andrew Jimenez, Matthew Jimenez and Nathan Jimenez; four sisters, Erma (Cecil) Williams, Rensselaer,  Imogene Bell, Winamac, Claudine Childers, Francesville,  and Gladys (Larry) Stonebraker, Battleground; and two brothers, Hobart (Adna) Dobson, Rensselaer and William (Diane) Dobson, Winamac and a sister-in-law, Alice Dobson, Wheatfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Joseph John Krulik, Jr., and a brother, John Dobson.

Mr. Dobson was a resident of Winamac for 38 years, also having lived in Medaryville. He started in car sales at Frank Felder Chevrolet in Rensselaer. He opened Dobson Auto Sales in Rensselaer and was later the long time owner-operator of Jim Dobson Ford Mercury in Winamac.  He was a 30-year member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God. 

Friends will be received at the Pentecostal Church of God in Wheatfield on Thursday, from 3 to 8 p.m. CDT.  The funeral service will be held at the church on Friday (Aug. 13) at 10 a.m. CDT with Rev. Eveston Risner officiating.  Burial will follow at Idle Cemetery, Winamac. 

Memorials may be made to the family which will go toward a scholarship to be given in memory of Jim.

Wilbur A. Roller

June 9, 1918 to August 9, 2010

WINAMAC - Wilbur A. Roller, 92, of 4775 W. James St., North Judson, passed away at 7:33 p.m., Monday, Aug. 9, at Starke Memorial Hospital in Knox.

He was born June 9, 1918, in Monticello, to Alonzo and Matilda Carlson Roller. He married Mary Kersey on Jan. 26, 1941. She died on March 20, 1994.

Mr. Roller had been a resident of North Judson since 1953. From the time he was a child until he retired at age 80, Wilbur had worked as a farmer, mostly in Pulaski and Starke counties.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday (Aug. 12), at the funeral home with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

Bonnie L. Boocher

October 9, 1940 to August 6, 2010

PLYMOUTH - Bonnie L. Boocher, 69, Winamac, died of natural causes at 7:15 p.m., Friday, Aug. 6, in Unity Medical Surgical Hospital, Mishawaka.

She was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Logansport Hospital. She was the daughter of Albert and Seville Boocher.

Survivors include  nieces Jacqueline Gerber, West Palm Beach, FL; and Christine & Michael Chippas, Plymouth; nephews David & Patty Boocher, LasVegas; and Michael & Marge Hughes, Summerfield, FL.  Also surviving is a sister-in-law Rita Martin of Denver, CO, along with nieces Renee Nunn of Logan, UT and Marla Kesslinger of Denver, CO; and nephew Russell Martin of Salt Lake City, UT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Barbara Day and a brother, Robert Martin.

Ms. Boocher graduated from Kewanna High School with the class of 1960. She earned her elementary education degree from Manchester College and her master’s degree from Indiana Universtiy in elementary education. She was a teacher in various Kewanna schools for many years. A dedicated Christian, she was active in the church community. She taught Sunday school and was supportative of many worthwhile charities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kewanna and most recently attended the Calvary Baptist Church of Winamac.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Paul A. Bonnell

Oct. 12, 1944 to Aug. 8, 2010

WINAMAC  - Paul A. Bonnell, 65, of 324 W. South St., Winamac, passed away at 12:37 p.m.,Sunday, Aug. 8, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Winamac, to Emron and Annabelle Doen Bonnell. He married Mary Lou Poor Ent on Sept. 10, 1971, in Monticello. She survives.

Mr. Bonnell served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a former employee of Galbreath Inc. and Whallon Machine. He was a local businessman for over 31 years, owning the former Rich's Cafe and the South 40. He was a life member of the VFW Post #1728 and was also a member of the Eagle's #2580, both of Winamac.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m.,Tuesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday (Aug. 11), at the funeral home, with Dan Frain officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services.

Memorial donations may be given to Southern Care Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
