Peggy Schultz

September 6, 1938 to January 7, 2015

FRANCESVILLE - Peggy J. Schultz, 76, of Francesville, died at 10 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, at IU Health White Hospital, Monticello.

She was born Sept. 6, 1938 in Winamac, to the late Frank and Helen Miller Goble. On Nov. 1, 1959, she married Robert E. Schultz in Winamac. He survives.

Mrs. Schultz was a member of the Francesville First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, making noodles, and being a floral designer. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 12, at the funeral home with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial donations may be given to Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Brian Haselby

November 5, 1958 to January 7, 2015

WINAMAC - Brian "Fred" Haselby, 56, of Star City, died at 6:03 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, Goshen.

He was born Nov. 5, 1958 in Logansport, to the late Robert B. "Sam: and Lillian Babe Bonnell Haselby. On Aug. 15, 1981, he married Sue Day. She survives.

Mr. Haselby was a lifelong farmer in Van Buren Township. He also worked many years at Moyer Grain in Star City. He was fondly known by family and friends as "Fred". He enjoyed watching NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan 12, at the funeral home with Rev. David Sommers officiating. Burial will be at Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Memorial donations may be given to charity of the donor's choice. 

Rosemary C. Watts

August 24, 1932 to January 8, 2015

WINAMAC - Rosemary C. Watts, 82, of Winamac, passed away at 4:35 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.

She was born August 24, 1932, in Star City, to the late John and Josephine Winter Hawkey. She married William "Bill" Watts Aug. 5, 1966 in Mexico, IN. He survives.

Mrs. Watts enjoyed woodworking, crocheting and camping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Stevens officiating. Burial will be at Riverbank Cemetery, Winamac.

Harry E. Miller

September 11, 1922 to January 6, 2015

WINAMAC - Harry E. Miller, 92, of Winamac, died at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6,  at Hickory Creek, Winamac.

He was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Winamac to the late Frank A. and Cecelia Gilsinger Miller. He married Mary Jean Malloy on Sept. 28, 1949 in Lafayette. She died May 11, 2006.

Mr. Miller was a co-owner of the Miller Department store in Winamac for 65 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac and was a 4th degree Knight, Knights of Columbus. He was a former director of First Union Bank and Trust in Winamac. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a former member of the Winamac Kiwanis Club and served as an adult scout leader and little league baseball coach. He was a former fireman with the Winamac Volunteer Fire Dept. He was very active in the Winamac community throughout the years and was involved in many different organizations. 
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and telling stories. He was a former Winamac Merchant League baseball player and avid bowler. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A scriptural wake service will be at 3 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10,  at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services.

Memorial donations may be given to Special Olympics or Boy Scout Troop 229.

Rosalind D. Larkin

November 26, 1949 to January 4, 2015

WINAMAC - Rosalind D. "Roz" Larkin, 65, of Winamac, died at 6:10 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

She was born Nov. 26, 1949, in Logansport, to the late Robert L. Sr. and Beatrice M. Bauman Shank. She married Larry Larkin on July 5, 1969 in Winamac. He survives.

Mrs. Larkin was a member of the Bunco Club and Town and Country Women club. She enjoyed decorating and shopping. She and her husband enjoyed spending time at Myrtle Beach and South Haven, Michigan. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to1 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Thursday, Jan. 8), at the funeral home with Rev. Laura Bailey officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to Pulaski Animal Center.

Walter J. Davis

November 2, 1939 to January 2, 2015

WINAMAC - Walter James "Jim" Davis, 75, Monterey, died at 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2015 at his home in Monterey.

He was born Nov, 2, 1939 in Lawton. He was the son of the late Arthur Raymond "Jim" Davis and Gladys Burkett Davis. On June 18, 1987, he married Lorene D. Cooper Davis, who preceded him in death on Oct, 22, 2008.

Survivors include:

Daughter Shawnna (Cyrus) Dillinger, Auburn; son Tim Davis, Monterey; step-sons Tom Kasch, Logansport, and James Kasch, Jacksonville, N. C.; and sister Dorothy Morgan, Francesville. He had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Davis and David Davis.

Mr. Davis was employed at Plymouth Tube in Winamac where he worked for 35 years before his retirement. He loved sports including baseball, basketball, football, bowling, and NASCAR. His best friend was his dog, "BEAR." He was a member of the VFW Auxillary and the Eagles.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and one hour before services on Wednesday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home. Pastor Bill Guerin will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Monterey.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and VNA Hospice Services. 

Martha A. Weaver

September 30, 1944 to January 3, 2015

WINAMAC - Martha A. Weaver, 70, of Winamac, passed away at 3:32 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

She was born Sept. 30, 1944, in Winamac, to the late Harry and Geraldine Thelma Trapp Poor. She married Ronald E. Weaver on Feb. 23, 1963 in Winamac. He died Sept. 5, 2007.

Mrs. Weaver and her husband were the former owners of Marty's Place in Winamac. She loved reading and enjoying the summer sitting at her picnic table. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
