FRANCESVILLE - Phyllis Joy Jungels, 83, of Medaryville, died at 2:54 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the White Oak Health Campus, Monticello.
She was born May 2, 1933 in Sublett, KY to Leonard and Dollie Carty Stepp. She married Fred D. Jungels on Oct. 1, 1949 in Rensselaer. He died Jan. 3, 2007.

Mrs. Jungels was a member of the Teaberry Hill Estates Church in Medaryville. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a great cook, funny and loved to dance. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her life.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home with Rev. Tod Masters officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

WINAMAC - Shannon Reynolds, 44, of Mishawaka, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 1, 1972 in Chicago Heights, IL.
She attended Marian High School in Mishawaka. She had worked for Burton's Laundry in Mishawaka and also had worked for Hinges & Handles, Inc.
A memorial graveside service will be hosted by her friends at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11, at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

MEDARYVILLE - Ralph E. Tanner, 75, of Medaryville, passed away at 6:44 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, at IU Health White Hospital, Monticello.
He was born May 1, 1941 in Winamac, to the late Floyd and Lillian Stewart Tanner. He was a 1959 graduate of Medaryville High School. On Sept. 3, 1960, he married Carol A. Chesak in Medaryville. She survives.

Mr. Tanner was an independent truck driver (Blue Denim). He was a lifelong member of the Medaryville Christian Church. He loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Medaryville Christian Church, Medaryville; and one hour prior to services at the church Thursday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at the church with Don Nedza officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Medaryville.

Mary E. Clark
August 23, 1926 to November 25, 2016
MEDARYVILLE - Mary Eleanor Clark, 90, of Medaryville, died Friday, Nov. 25, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home, Francesville.
She was born Aug. 23, 1926 in Cambridge, Ohio to the late A.P. and Ada Bair Benjamin. On June 11, 1948 she married Eldon Clark in Medaryville. He died Nov, 9, 1995.
She is survived by sons Dr. L. Ross Clark of Redding, CA and Thomas N. Clark of Fairbanks, AK; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also, sisters Esther Houston of San Gabriel, CA, Lois McCarter of Greenwood, and Ruth Ann Hieronymus of Atlanta, GA; and brother Paul Benjamin of Paeonian Springs, VA.
She was preceeded in death by a sister, Ellen Virginia Benjamin.
Mrs. Clark moved from Hamilton, IN to Medaryville when her father became the minister at the Medaryville Christian Church. In 1963 she earned her bachelor's degree in education and her master's degree in education in 1968 from Valparaiso University. She worked as an elementary school teacher in North Judson. She was a member of the Medaryville Christian Church and the Indiana State Teachers Association. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing at the church. She would often sing while her husband Eldon showed slides of their many trips. They had traveled to 49 states.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at the Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville; and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Medaryville Christian Church in Medaryville, with Rev. Don Nedza officiating. Burial will follow at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.
William H. Kasten
August 21, 1948 to November 2016
ROYAL CENTER - William H. Kasten, 68, of Pulaski passed away peacefully at 2:42 a.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Born on Aug. 21, 1948 in Winamac, he was the son of the late Robert and Velma Dommer Kasten. He was a 1966 Winamac High School graduate. On March 13, 1972 he married Debra E. Schield. She preceded him on Sept. 9, 2011.
Survivors include his children, Amanda Sutton (Calvin) of Francesville, Maurice Kasten (Jennifer) of Winamac, Chad Kasten (Christina) of Winamac and Jason Kasten (Tricia) of Winamac, brothers, Eugene Kasten (Sherry) of Spooner, Wis., Fred Kasten (Jeanette) of Winamac and Marion Kasten (Wilma Jean) of Winamac and grandchildren, Connor Kasten, Keegan Kasten, Christian Kasten, Kiely Kasten, Kamron Kasten, Karson Kasten, William Sutton, Calista Sutton and August Kasten.
Mr. Kasten worked at the Francesville Elevator for over 20 years and he recently retired from the Braun Corporation in Winamac.
A celebration of life service will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Winamac Cemetery with Randy Neff officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.

Alice M. Doyle

FRANCESVILLE - Alice M. Doyle, 78, of Francesville, passed away at 3:41 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, at IU Health White Hospital, Monticello.
She was born Nov. 20, 1938 in Alice, TX. She married Francis Ambrose "Red" Doyle in 1964. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Mrs. Doyle was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Francesville. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing BINGO, cooking, and sewing. She was hard worker. She loved her family very much and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville, with burial to follow.

Mark E. Haring
August 19, 1948 to November 20, 2016
FRANCESVILLE - Mark E. Haring, 68, of Francesville, passed away at 8:20 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, in Brownsburg. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and was able to spend his last days with his family by his side.
He was born Aug. 19, 1948 in Lafayette, to the late Gilbert "Gib" and Arlos Grieger Haring. He was a 1966 graduate of Medaryville High School and attended Valparaiso University. On June 24, 1972, he married Lois M. Miller, in San Pierre. She survives.

Mr. Haring was retired from INDOT, and was also a former gas station owner and radio DJ. He attended Francesville United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Francesville Town Board and actively worked to better the community. He was a member of the Lafayette Corvette Club and was a past president of the Countryside Lanes Bowling League in Radioville. He enjoyed daily breakfast and coffee with his friends, hosting and cooking with the "dinner club" the last 25 years, and annual cruises to the Caribbean. He also enjoyed following the stock market. He had attended the Indy 500 for 44 years and was especially proud to attend the 100th running last year. He was a loving husband, father, and "pop" who loved spending time with his grandsons. He was a well-known and well-liked person of the community. His upbeat personality and contagious laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 25, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, at Francesville United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
