October 12, 1950 to January 8, 2017

MEDARYVILLE - LeRoy Collis, 66, of Summersville, Ky. (formerly of Fennville, Mich.) passed away at his home Sunday, Jan. 8.

He was born Oct. 12, 1950 to Walter and Geneva Randolph Collis.

He is survived by:

Mr. Collis served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Clarion Technologies in South Haven, Mich.He enjoyed restoring old cars and trucks. He enjoyed spending the last few years of his life at his home in Kentucky. He was a loving father and grandfather who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Goodway Baptist Church, Medaryville. Burial will be at Goodway Cemetery, Medaryville. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.

Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.

Clayton R. Davis

September 28, 2015 to January 9, 2017

WINAMAC - Infant Clayton Robert Davis, 15 months, of Winamac passed away unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 9, at Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis.

He was born Sept. 28, 2015 in Winamac.

He is survived by his parents, Brandon and Kimberly Fritz Davis of Winamac and his siblings, Gavin Taylor, Brandon Davis Jr., and Kendra Davis, at home.

Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Rowena (Ken) Back of Enterprise, MS; paternal grandmother, Melissa Lamb of Winamac; maternal great-grandmother, Betty Cooper of Kokomo, and paternal great-grandmother, Phyllis Chambers of Middletown, OH; aunts and uncles, Jennifer and Jason Mosley, and Ashley and Tim Davis Jr.; as well as many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: maternal grandfather, Robert Fritz and paternal grandfather, Timothy Davis.

The family noted that "although he was only with us for a short time, Clayton brought us a lot of joy and was the happiest baby. His precious smile will be sadly missed by everyone."

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., at the funeral home with Pastor David Norris officiating. Burial will be at Idle Cemetery, Winamac.

Franklin J. Bortkiewicz

November 25, 1942 to January 6, 2017

MEDARYVILLE - Franklin J. "Frank" Bortkiewicz, 74, of Medaryville, passed away at his home Friday, Jan. 6.

He was born Nov. 25, 1942 in Chicago.

Survivors include: daughter Rachelle R. Bortkiewicz, son Brian J. (Stacey) Bortkiewicz, granddaughter Sophia L. Bortkiewicz, brother Anton Bortkiewicz, and sister Renee Knapp.

Preceded in death by: parents Herman and Stella Bortkiewicz, and wife Barbara Sallee Bortkiewicz.

A private burial with military honors will be at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Rensselaer.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion.

Mollie M. Wyatt

January 25, 1931 to January 4, 2017

WINAMAC - Mollie Maureen Wyatt, 85, of Winamac, passed away at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Pulaski Healthcare Center, Winamac.

She was born Jan. 25, 1931 in Augusta, IL to the late Chellis and Jewell Meyer Randall. She was a graduate of Augusta High School and Blessing Nursing School. On May 13, 1954 in Quincy, IL, she married Robert Wyatt. He survives.

Survivors include:

Alana (Nayel) Badareen, Tucscon, AZ, Daughter

Ronald (Julia) Randall, Augusta, IL, Brother

Mrs. Wyatt was a registered nurse and proud homemaker. She enjoyed garage-sales and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

A private graveside service will be held at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

Nona Malchow-Orr

September 9, 1934 to January 5, 2017

FRANCESVILLE - Nona Lee Malchow-Orr, 82, of Francesville passed away at 3:18 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, at Creasy Springs Health Campus, Lafayette.

She was born Sept. 9, 1934 in rural White County to the late Robert G. and Mildred Musall. 

Survivors include four children, Robert Malchow, Rodney (Karen) Malchow, Nona Hollenbaugh, and Gina Leman; brother, Ralph Musall; sisters, Dixie Geisler and Doris Piercy; sister-in-law, Erma Musall; former husband Ellsworth Leroy Malchow; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and several other extended family members.

She is preceded in death by brothers, William Musall and Jim (Virginia) Musall; sister, Betty Stillwell and brothers-in-law Marvin Piercy and Doyle Geisler. 

Mrs. Malchow-Orr graduated from Royal Center High School in 1952 and completed cosmetology school. She owned and operated a beauty salon, as well as Nona's Drive-In in Francesville. Over the years, she worked as a Mary Kay consultant and a bookkeeper for several local businesses. She was a talented homemaker and artisan who was skilled in painting, making costumes, cake decorating, sewing, baking, and cooking. She enjoyed outdoor activities, including gardening, mowing, canoeing and fishing. She was active in the community as a member of the Red Hat Society and Francesville Fall Festival Committee. She was an avid supporter of local fine arts programs. She was a devoted member of the Francesville First Christian Church. She was a selfless, loving, accepting, and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; who knew no strangers. She enjoyed traveling, laughing, singing, dancing and making the most out of life. Nona's lasting words to her family, Live each day, enjoy it ... make memories.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 9, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

FRANCESVILLE - Robert M. "Bob" Lewark, Sr., 62, of Francesville (formerly of Medaryville) passed away at 2 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, at his home.

He was born July 19, 1954 in Winamac to the late Leslie S. Sr. and Leona Mae Archer Lewark. He was a 1972 graduate of West Central High School.

Mr. Lewark was retired from Ball Corporation in Monticello where he worked for 20 years. He attended Pleasant Ridge Bible Church, Francesville.He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping as well as cook-outs. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home with Rev. Leonard Allen and Pastor Larry Fugett officiating. Burial will be at Independence Cemetery, Medaryville.

Lucille Davis

April 20, 1922 to January 3, 2017

WINAMAC - Lucille Davis, 94, of Winamac passed away at 11:50 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home, Francesville.

She was born April 20, 1922 in Breathitt County, Ky. to the late John Scott and Mary Spencer Turner. On June 1, 1941, she married Emory Davis in North Judson. He passed away on June 4, 2003.

Mrs. Davis faithfully loved and served her Lord, Jesus Christ and her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac; and one hour prior to the services at the church Saturday. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at Winamac Church of the Nazarene, Winamac with Rev. Thomas Dewlen officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.
