Ronald E. Buck

January 15, 1941 to October 24, 2013

LOGANSPORT - Ronald E. Buck, 72, of Peru, formerly of Loganspor,t passed away at 9:38 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.

Born on Jan. 15, 1941 in Winamac, he was the son of the late James Otis and Elsie (Fritz) Buck.

Survivors include brother, James Buck of Metaire, La., sister, Barbara Buck and husband Joe of Logansport, sister-in-law, Sue Buck of Logansport, nieces and nephews, Michelle Buck of Lebanon, Ohio, Michael Buck and wife Kathy of Lebanon, Ohio, Ryan Buck and wife Rebecca Buck of Logansport, Abby Sell and husband David of Logansport, Barb Davenport and husband John of Peru, and great nieces and nephews, Carrie and Matt Becker of Indianapolis, Alec and Lauren Buck of Lebanon, Ohio, Baileigh Buck of Logansport, Caleb, Joe, Isaac and Maddison Sell of Logansport and Claire and Sam Buck of Logansport.

He was also preceded in death by brother, Robert Buck and sister, Janet Buck.

Mr. Buck formerly attended Winamac Christian Church and the Main St. United Methodist Church in Logansport. He was a past member and clown of the Peru Circus where he was known as "Bucko" the clown. He was also an avid joke teller who enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to Elvis music.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Friday (Nov. 1), at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel, Logansport; with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the service with Pastor George Dinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Winamac Cemetery.

John Anton Jr.

April 10, 1936 to October 31, 2013

WINAMAC - John "Ted" Anton Jr., 77, Winamac, passed away at 3:35 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at Memorial Hospital, Logansport.

He was born April 10, 1936, in Terre Haute, to the late John and Pauline Regas Anton. He married Joy M. McDonald on Jan. 30, 1959, in Crown Point. She passed away on July 15, 2005.

Mr. Anton served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1961. He was a former resident of Gary until he moved to Winamac in 1974. He also lived in Las Vegas from 1978-98, returning to Winamac in 1998 to spend more time with his grandchildren. He formerly worked for PPG in Gary as a truck driver until 1978. He also worked at Deluca Liquor in Las Vegas until his retirement in 1998. Hed was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski, and the Winamac Moose Lodge. He enjoyed bowling, bingo and gambling. He loved spending time with his family and friends, but he especially loved his time with his dog "Bear".

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m.,Tuesday (Nov. 5), at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski, with Rev. Ambrose Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services. 

Memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.

Homer O. Martindale

June 20, 1944 to October 27, 2013

WINAMAC - Homer O. Martindale, 69, Star City, passed away at 4:05 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, at Hickory Creek, Winamac.

He was born June 20, 1944, in Star City, to the late Joseph and Florence Tomlinson Martindale. He married Freda Ann Clemons Lloyd on Feb. 23, 1979, in Clinton, IN. She survives.

Mr. Martindale served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Color Guard that served at President Dwight D. Eisenhower's funeral service. He was a truck driver for most of his life. He also had worked in the construction industry. He was a member of the Yorktown Road Church of Christ, Logansport. He was a jack-of-all-trades and also enjoyed working on cars. He also enjoyed growing roses.,

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, (Oct. 31), at the funeral home with Mark Racop officiating. Burial will be in Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society or Yorktown Road Church of Christ.

Earl E. White

May 22, 1924 to October 23, 2013

WINAMAC - Earl E. White, 89, of Winamac, passed away at 12:46 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

He was born May 22, 1924, in Beebee, AR, to the late Elmer J. and Hazel A. Button White. He married Wanda Berneda Cross on Nov. 20, 1943 in Portageville, MO. She died Dec. 13, 1998.

Mr. White had worked as a farmer and was a retired sanitation worker for the Town of Winamac. He also worked in the tree trimming business for many years. He moved to Winamac in 1964 from Portageville, MO. He enjoyed telling jokes and playing cards and dominos with his daughters. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., (Monday, Oct. 28), at the funeral home with David Broad officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to charity of the donor's choice.

Salrin services

MEDARYVILLE - A graveside service for Keith B “Frog” Salrin, 77, of Oklahoma (formerly of Medaryville), will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday (Oct. 15), at White Post Cemetary, Medaryville. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.

Mr. Salrin died Sept. 20, 2013, in Oklahoma.

Frain Mortuary Query-Ulbright Chapel in Medaryville is handling local arrangements.

Robert E. Lancashire

December 29, 1960 to October 10, 2013

FRANCESVILLE - Robert 'Bob' Edward Lancashire, 52, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Oct. 10.

He was born Dec. 29, 1960 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to James E. Lancashire and Edna Oeth; both parents survive. He married Karen Jo Onken on Aug. 27, 1983 in Clearwater, Fla. She died Nov. 29, 2012. 

He is survived by two daughters, Heather (Jeff) Manor of Dickson, Tenn., with their 2 children, Lindsay and Cameron; and Amanda Lancashire of Nashville, Tenn., with her 5 children, Alexia, Jeremy, Joshua, Ashleigh and Jairon. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Lancashire of Tallahessee, Fla.

When he was age 2, Mr. Lancashire's family moved to Clearwater, Fla. In 1991, he and his wfe and their 2 daughters moved to Nashville. 

A graveside  service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday (Oct. 22), at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville, with Rev. Susan Jennys officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the family in c/o Heather Manor.

Irene M. Shepperd

September 23, 1932 to October 3, 2013

NORTH JUDSON - Irene M. Cegielski Shepperd, 81, of Medaryville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, in Winamac.

She was born Sept. 23, 1932.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m., CT Tuesday, at Souls Harbour Church, 9331 W 750 N, North Judson. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. CT Wednesday (Oct. 9), at the church. Burial will be in White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.
