"Miss Indiana State Fair 2025 Pilar Bravo's dedication to her community and her impressive achievements in academics, horse showing, and volunteer work make her a remarkable ambassador for the Indiana State Fair," said a pageant spokesperson. "As she embarks on her journey as the 66th Indiana State Fair Queen, Pilar will undoubtedly inspire countless individuals across the state with her passion, leadership, and commitment to excellence."
Bravo's selection marks the first time since 1981 that a contestant from Marion County has won the title.
The new queen was chosen from among 80 county contestants. Pulaski County was represented at the state pageant by 2024 county fair queen Maggie Smith. She is a 2024 graduate of Winamac Community High School and a student at the University of Southern Indiana.
The Indiana State Fair Queen plays a key role in promoting the Indiana State Fair by traveling nearly 6,500 miles during June and July to approximately 45 counties in preparation for the Indiana State Fair.
The pageant judging was held over two days (Jan. 4-5) with preliminary judging on Saturday and finals on Sunday.
The contestants are scored in four categories: judges’ interview (45 percent), prepared speech (15 percent), professional wear (20 percent) and formal wear (20 percent).
The winner of the state pageant will receive the title “Miss Indiana State Fair 2025” and must be prepared to spend the entire 15 days of the 2025 Indiana State Fair Aug. 1-17 (closed on Mondays). The winner will become an employee of the Indiana State Fair Commission throughout her 12- month year of service.
