Jerry L. Hanna
January 3, 1945 to February 28, 2022
WINAMAC - Jerry L. Hanna, 77, of Star City, passed away Monday, Feb. 28, at his home.
He was born Jan. 3, 1945 in Rensselaer, to the late Max and Ruth Putt Hanna. He grew up in White County, and attended school in Monticello. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On Dec. 27, 2004, he married Kathleen Y. Williams Hewitt in Logansport. She passed away Dec. 30, 2021.

Mr. Hanna was retired, having worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #150 in Countryside, IL. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, and former member of the Masonic Lodge in Illinois. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, and playing Euchre. He was a long-time friend of Bill’s. He valued a good conversation and was known for his great sense of humor. He will be remembered most for his Godly spirit and random acts of kindness.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 12, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the church with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating. Burial will be at Star City West Cemetery in Star City. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.

Pearl Ruth Rowe
June 6, 1933 to March 1, 2022
NORTH JUDSON - Pearl “Ruth” Rowe, 88, of Winamac, passed away Tuesday morning, March 1, at her home.
She was born June 6, 1933 in Jackson (Breathitt County), KY. to William and Susie Jane Taulbee King. She married Floyd Carson Rowe on Dec. 10, 1955. They were married for 64 years before he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her five children: Freddie John Rowe, Kenny Mack (Mary) Rowe and Floyd Carson (Maryann) Rowe Jr., all of Salyersville, KY, and Kathy Lynn Wera of North Judson and Ruby Ann (Rabion) Frasure of Winamac; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her brother Paul King of Jackson, KY; and sisters Dessie Londergan of Dayton, OH, and Betty Neace of North Judson. She had many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William King Jr. and David King, sisters Mary White, Ruby Tolson and Viola Dunn.
In 1949, Ruth went to Chicago on a bus with her sister Ruby to seek work. While living there, she went on a blind date to see a live performance stage show called Julia Rosa with a man named Carson. That night she met the man of her dreams and the one she would spend the rest of her life with. He joined the Air Force in 1953 and was stationed in Alaska for two years. He was then transferred to Limestone, Maine. While on leave, the couple was married by a judge in Chicago. In 1958, they moved to North Judson to live with family. This is where they called home and raised their family. Carson would always say he “wanted a Queen but got a King.”
Mrs. Rowe’s greatest joys in life were spending time with her family and serving her church. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She was known for her cornbread, fried chicken and hamburgers with steamed buns. She gave her heart and life to the Lord in November of 1959, while at the Denham Freewill Baptist Church. She was baptized shortly after, along with her husband and 17 others after having to cut through 15 inches of ice with a chainsaw. At the time of her death, Ruth was the last remaining charter member of the Denham Freewill Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. (CT) Sunday, March 6, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior, all at the Denham Church. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery in North Judson following the services.

Sharon L. Cramer
June 3, 1940 to February 22, 2022
WINAMAC - Sharon L. Cramer, 81, of Winamac, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 22, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 3, 1940 in Knox, to the late Frank and Elsie Keehn Elgin. She graduated from Knox High School. She married Robert A. “Bob” Cramer on Aug. 30, 1959 in Knox. He survives.

Soon after their marriage, Mrs. Cramer and her husband bought a house in Winamac which became their home for 62 years. She served the Lord faithfully throughout her life. She loved her family more than anything, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home with Dan Litfin officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Hanna Cemetery in Hanna, IN, with burial following.

WINAMAC - Linda Ellen Molenda, 72, of Winamac, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 17, at Lafayette Rehabilitation Hospital in Lafayette,
She was born on July 7, 1949 in Chicago, to the late Richard P. and Alice A. McKeon Wilkie. She graduated from Argo High School in Summit, IL.
She is survived by: David (Linda) Molenda, Lindsay, ON Son Jennifer (Jeremiah) Thompson, St. Louis, MO, Granddaughter Autumn Thompson, Great-Granddaughter
Mrs. Molenda was a strong advocate for others in need. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
No services will be held. Private burial will take place at a later date.

Jack L. Giselbach
November 26, 1934 to February 16, 2022
WINAMAC - Jack L. Giselbach, 87, of Ora, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Northwest Health Porter Hospital in Valparaiso.
He was born Nov. 26, 1934 in Elwood, to the late Joseph Raymond and Helen Bernice Green Giselbach. He volunteered for the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. On Sept. 28, 1977, he married Carole York, in Ft. Wayne. She survives.

Mr. Giselbach retired from the Indiana Department of Corrections after nearly 20 years of service. He worked at Westville Correctional Facility and Medaryville Youth Camp. He loved the outdoors and had fond memories of playing in the family apple orchid in his youth. He was a talented young athlete who excelled in basketball, football, and baseball. He enjoyed helping others and was a former member of the Jaycees in Albion. He had a lifetime of love for gospel music and enjoyed singing with the Lake Shore Gospelaires. His love for the outdoors led him to become a Park Ranger at Chain O’ Lakes State Park in Albion. He was avid outdoorsman and had good memories of camping with his parents, family, and friends. His life was absorbed by caring for those he loved. He was a hardworking and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family very much, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 20, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac; and one hour prior to services Monday. The funeral service will be at 12 noon Monday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home with Pastor Etsie Allen officiating. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military honors following services at funeral home.

Perry D. Conley
April 29, 1972 to February 12, 2022
MEDARYVILLE - Perry D. Conley, 49, of Medaryville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 12, from a sudden heart attack at his home.
He was born on April 29, 1972 in Lafayette, to the late Roby and Patricia Marion Conley. He graduated from West Central High School in 1990.

Mr. Conley was a hard worker and enjoyed doing odd jobs for people, despite being disabled. He was a member of Goodway Baptist Church in Medaryville. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially football and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts. He especially enjoyed being outdoors no matter the season. More than anything, he loved his family and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb, 26, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. (Saturday, at the funeral home), with Pastor James Rowe officiating. Private burial will be at a later date at Fair Oaks Cemetery in Fair Oaks, IN.

FRANCESVILLE - Richard L. Reedy, 78, lifelong farmer of Francesville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9.
He was born Jan. 21, 1944 in Harwood, MO, to the late Walter and Jennie Curry Reedy.

Mr. Reedy moved to the area in the early 1970s to work for Christian Welker and worked for Welker Farms for over 40 years. He was a very hard worker who enjoyed visiting with others and had friends all over.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 18, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.
