Marian M. Landrum

January 9, 1933 to April 11, 2023

FRANCESVILLE - Marian May Landrum, 90, of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday, April 11, at IU Health Memorial Hospital in Monticello.

She was born Jan. 9, 1933 in Decatur, IL to the late Leslie Felex and Evelyn Blanch [Roberts] Tackett.

Mrs. Landrum had worked as a housekeeper and caregiver in the Buffalo area for many years. She enjoyed gardening (especially flowers), writing songs and poetry, and her Bible studies. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. CT)) Monday, April 17, at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Burial will follow at the cemetery.

Michael L. Dixon

August 13, 1948 to October 9, 2022

WINAMAC - Michael Lynn “Mike” Dixon, 74, of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born Aug. 13, 1948, to the late Forrest “Forty” and Amelia [Kruzick] Dixon in Star City. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Sandra A. Howard in 1972. They shared 32 years together and raised three sons. After her death in 2005, Michael met Susan Taylor. They shared 16 years of loving companionship.

Mr. Dixon retired from Norfolk Southern where he worked as a welder. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards and golfing.

A private family burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac.

Robin R. Solomon

August 26, 1957 to March 30, 2023

WINAMAC - Robin R. Solomon, 65, of Winamac, passed away at 2:05 p.m., Thursday, March 30.

He was born Aug. 26, 1957 in North Judson, to the late James E. and Aletha I. [Clark] Solomon. In 1975, he graduated from Pioneer High School in Royal Center.

Mr. Solomon was the owner and operator of Tippy-Canoe Rentals in Winamac for many years. Since his retirement, he enjoyed repairing starting pistols. He also enjoyed attending field trials and training his hunting and retrieving dogs. He loved the outdoors, especially spending time at the Tippecanoe River State Park and on the Tippecanoe River.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, April 10, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Private burial will be at Reed Cemetery in Winamac.

Memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Tippecanoe River State Park.

James W. Feuquay Jr.

October 29, 1944 to March 28, 2023

ROYAL CENTER - James W. Feuquay Jr., 78, of Winamac, passed away Tuesday, March 28, at his home, surrounded by family.

He was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Indianapolis to the late James Sr. and Helen (Fetch) Feuquay. After completing his education, he served in the U. S. Air Force for four years until being honorably discharged. He later met and married Linda Brennan and together they spent over 50 years by each other’s sides; raising their family and watching their children and then grandchildren grow.

He is survived by his wife, and sons Eric (Angie) Feuquay of Pulaski, and Ronald James (Teri) Thompson of Leiters Ford; daughters Kristine (Wayne) Dye, and Kandace Feuquay, and brother Jerry (Shelly) Feuquay; as well as 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William Joseph Feuquay; and his brother, David Feuquay.  

Mr. Feuquay took pride in his work as an OTR truck driver and was on the roads for 35 years prior to retirement. He had many joys in life: he was a huge motorsports fan and enjoyed watching races, truck and tractor pulls, and visiting different race tracks. He also enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his youth camping. However, his greatest joy in life was the time he spent with his family and friends, who will all miss him very much.

Charlotte M. Berger

December 19, 1928 to March 22, 2023

WINAMAC - Charlotte M. Berger, 94, of Star City, passed away Wednesday, March 22, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.

She was born Dec. 19, 1928 in rural White County to the late Isadore V. and Gloria M. [Snow] Roth. She graduated from Royal Center High School in 1946 and attended St. Francis College in Ft. Wayne. On July 21, 1951, she married Raymond I. “Ray” Berger at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski. He passed away March 14, 2019.

Mrs. Berger was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski where she participated in the Christian Mothers Society, taught catechism, and served as church organist for nearly 20 years. She was a member of the Niteliters Home Ec Club. She enjoyed painting and writing poetry as well as music in general. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles (confidently in ink) and traveling internationally with her husband. She had the unique experience of serving as a juror during the Ford Pinto Trial. She retired from Winamac Community High School in 1998 where she had worked as an audio-visual aide. More than anything, she loved her family very much and will be deeply missed.

A scriptural wake service will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, and will be followed by a Christian Mother’s service. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, with Rev. Andrew DeKeyser officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery South in Pulaski.

Memorial donations may be made in the form of mass intentions.

WINAMAC - Armel E. “Carl” Wireman, 84, of North Judson, passed away Wednesday, March 22, surround by his family at Miller’s Mary Manor in Culver.

He was born Sept. 25, 1938 in Salyersville, KY to the late Simon Sr. and Georgia [Joseph] Wireman.

Mr. Wireman worked as a carpenter for many years and enjoyed fishing well as gardening. He was a loving father to many and a friend to all who met him. He will remain forever in our hearts, until we meet again.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., (Tuesday), at the funeral home with Rev. Pebbles Wireman M.A. officiating. Private burial will be at Mt. Zion-Franklin Twp. Cemetery in Winamac.
