Vernon D. Shepperd

FRANCESVILLE - Vernon Douglas Shepperd, 52, Monticello, died at 10:46 a.m., Saturday, May 7, at White County Memorial Hospital, Monticello.
He was born Feb. 26, 1959, in Kenosha, Wi, to the late Vernon and Helen Gwendolyn Wilson Shepperd. He married Michele Holcomb on Jan. 6, 1981 in Crown Pointt. She survives.

Mr. Shepperd was the owner and operator of Naturally Green Lawn Care in Monticello and surrounding areas. He had also worked for several years at Inland Steel in East Chicago. He was a member of a lawn care association.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday (May 11), at the funeral home with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo.

Lois Ann Meyer
October 6, 1929 to April 22, 2011
RENSSELAER - Lois Ann Meyer, age 81, a Rensselaer resident since 1962, passed away Friday, April 22. She had been in declining health for two months.
She was born in Winamac on Oct. 6, 1929, the daughter of the lae Albert Powers and Hazel (Zellers) Powers. Her first marriage was to Norman Cors who passed away in 1958. On June 6, 1962, in Winamac, she married Vincent C. Meyer. He passed away on Aug. 2, 1983.
Surviving are her children, Donna (Gary) Lanoue of Rensselaer, Diana (Mike) Eggiman of Carmel, David (Lynette) Cors of New London, MN, Judy Tucker of New London, MN, Barbara L. (John) Hartz of Bethesda, MD, Jeffrey C. (Heidi) Meyer of Madison, WI, Christine M. (Patrick) Sadenwater of Indianapolis, Lynn Y. Moskovitz (fiancee’ Michael Thompson) of Westfield, IN, and Mark (Kimberly) Meyer of Park Ridge, IL; 24 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Dick (Doris) Powers of Fort Madison, IA, Bob Powers of Winamac, IN and Ron (Judy) Powers of North Judson, IN.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dave Moskovitz, four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Meyer was raised in Winamac. She was a graduate of Winamac High School and Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing. She was employed for 35 years as a registered nurse at the Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Christian Women’s Sodality. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and was a Fellow at St. Joseph College, both in Rensselaer.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday (April 27), at Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Rensselaer.

Edd L. Stafford

WINAMAC - Edd L. Stafford, 69, of Winamac, formerly of Monterey, passed away at 8 p.m., Weddnesday, April 27, at IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born Jan. 30, 1942 in Dyersberg, TN, the son of the late James E. and Mamie Hughlong Stafford. He married Janice M. Shanks on Feb. 27, 1965, in Chicago. She survives.

Mr. Stafford was a mechanic. He was a former resident of Monterey, moving to Winamac 18 months ago.He also was a bus driver for Culver Community Schools.
Visitation will be after 12 noon, Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Monday, May 2), at the funeral home, with Pastor Don Franklin officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Monterey.
David Dean Stangle
May 28, 1939 to April 20, 2011
KEWANNA - David Dean Stangle, 71, Kewanna, passed away at 6:35 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, at the Rochester Life Care Center, Rochester.
He was born May 28, 1939 in Cass Co. to the late Cecil & Dorothy (Watson). On March 4, 1962 he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane Woodke at Helm St. Church of God in Logansport. She survives.
Also surviving are daughter, Janie (Troy) Hattery, and their children, Dean and Melinda Hattery all of Peru, daughter, Jenny (Wade) Cohagan, and their daughter, Ellie all of Monticello, son David Cecil Stangle (Dawn) and their son David Dean Stangle and her daughters McKenna & Rebecca all of Kewanna. He is also survived by a brother Edwin (Bette) Stangle of Monticello and a sister Joan (Lester- deceased) Piercy of Mesa, AZ.
Mr. Stangle was a 1958 Star City High School graduate. A farmer all his life, he also had a passion for big, earth moving equipment. As a teenager he operated a crane and helped dredge out Lake Manitou. He was probably best known as the driver of a Minneapolis Moline tractor by the name of " Solid Junk".He was national points champion for three years. He was inducted into the NTPA hall of fame in 1997.
Mr. Stangle was a past supervisor of Fulton Co. Soil & Water Conservation District, a member of Winamac Nazarene Church, Fulton Co. Historical Power Assoc., Prairie Gold Rush, IH collectors-Chapter 33, Richland Center Tractor Pullers, Indiana Pullers Inc., M & M Collectors, and a Pfister seed corn salesman for over 40 years.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Monday, and one hour prior to the service at the Church of the Nazarene, Winamac. The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday (April 26) at the church with Rev. Daniel Burgess officiating. Burial will be at the Bruce Lake Cemetery, Kewanna.
The family requests no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Fulton Co. Historical Power Assoc. or the Kewanna Union Township Volunteer Fire Dept. Arrangements have been made by Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel.

WINAMAC - Mary Jane Roller, 69, of North Judson, passed away at 9:11p.m., Friday, April 22, at IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born July 27, 1941, in Winamac, to the late Wilbur and Mary Kersey Roller.

Ms. Roller was a former librarian in Rochester and Hebron. She attended Ancilla College, Valparaiso University and IUSB.
Friends may call from 12 noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Tuesday, April 26) at the funeral home with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

WINAMAC - Marie B. Trinosky, 94, of Logansport, (formerly of Winamac), passed away at 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, at Logansport Memorial Hospital, Logansport.
She was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Cicero, Ill., to the late John and Kruta Paral. She married Edward H. Trinosky on July 23, 1936, in Cicero. They were married for 68 years. He passed away on Oct. 13, 2004.

Mrs. Trinosky formerly worked at the Harris Garment Factory in Winamac. She moved to Winamac in 1945, coming from Cicero.
Friends may call after 10 a.m., Saturday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., (Saturday, April 23), at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
