Donald J. Fox

WINAMAC - Donald J. Fox, 85, of Winamac, passed away at 9:15 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, in Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
He was born July 3, 1926, in Pulaski, to the late Rudolph and Ella McLachlin Fox. He married Beverly J. Budd on Oct. 17, 1948 in Ora. She died on Oct. 18, 1992.

Mr. Fox served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a sergeant in Co A 34th Infantry. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 1728 in Winamac. He was a past post commander and the commander of the gaurd for the military funeral details. He was a distinguished past second district commander of the VFW. He was a member of American Legion Post 71 in Winamac.
He worked as a carpenter and general contractor in the Winamac area for many years. He was co-owner of Tippecanoe Construction Co. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and feeding his birds.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Sunday (Aug. 28), at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Landry officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial donations may be given to the VFW Post 1728 Scholarship Fund.
Mary M. Powers
June 18, 1919 to August 18, 2011
WINAMAC - Mary M. Powers, 92, Winamac, died at 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
She was born June 18, 1919, in Thornhope, to the late Adam and Vivian Phillips Thompson. She married James W. Powers on Sept. 25, 1948 in Winamac. He died May 30, 2002.

Mrs. Powers was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was raised in the Star City United Methodist Church. She was a former school teacher in Lake County. She worked as a Pulaski County County Extension agent for 30 years. She was the first women in the state of Indiana to be named a county director. In her various roles she helped hundreds of children through their 4-H years and worked with many women who were members of the home economics clubs in Pulaski County.
She was a volunteer for several organizations including the Retired teachers Association, Ladies of Charity, Pulaski County Human Services and the Old Star City Cemetery Association. She established the Mary T. Powers Cooperativee Extension Endowment Fund through the Pulaski County Community Foundation.
Mrs. Powers and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and Mexico. She also enjoyed gardening.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday (Aug. 21), at the funeral home with Rev. Martin Sandhage officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac.
Memorial donations may be given to charity of the donor's choice.
Edward Milo Sr.
May 23, 1931 to August 11, 2011
WINAMAC - Edward George Milo Sr., 80, of Winamac, passed away at 10:28 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte.
He was born May 23, 1931, in Winamac, to the late Michael and Pauline Gergely Milo Sr. He married Roxanna Lou Clements on Jan. 22, 1955, in Metea. She passed away on March 20, 1982.

Mr. Milo was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Operating Engineer's Local 150. He was a member of Winamac Masonic Lodge #262, South Bend Scottish Rite, and ORAK Shrine. Heenjoyed collecting and restoring John Deere tractors.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A Masonic service will begin at 7 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday (Aug. 16), at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Landry officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
Memorial donations may be given to the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital.

WINAMAC - Heidimarie Brigman, 55, of Winamac passed away at 1:02 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
She was born Oct. 30, 1955, in Nuremberg, Germany to the late Katie and Max Kny.

Mrs. Brigman moved to the U.S. in 1979. She had lived in Winamac for over 25 years and worked at Wal-Mart in Rochester. She liked to paint and do crafts. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and also enjoyed watching the Olympics.

Mr. Secviar grew up in Calumet City, Ill., and graduated from T.F. North High School,Calumet City, in 1998. He was a resident of Plymouth for three years. He was an employee of Hoosier Tire, and a former employee of Lowe's in Plymouth. In 2001 he completed the Chicago Marathon.
No services will be held.

WINAMAC - Annetta M. Baker, 91, Winamac, died at 11:50 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1, at the Pulaski Healthcare Center, Winamac.
She was born Sept. 24, 1919 in Winamac, to the late Herman and Cleda Tuttle Davidson. She married William Clayton Baker on Sept. 6, 1942, in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Lake Bruce. He died on July 20, 1990.

Mrs. Baker was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Lake Bruce. She graduated from Ball State University with a teaching degree and received her master's degree from Manchester College. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation. She taught for 37 years including Fairview, Monterey, and Eastern Pulaski Schools.
She loved teaching and tried to be a good influence in children's lives by teaching not only book lessons but life's lessons.
Her memberships included the Pulaski County Retired Teachers Association and the Beta Beta Latreian Club. She loved looking for geodes and other rocks with her husband. There are still geodes in flower beds at John and Jackie's house. Annetta and Clayton enjoyed traveling with their two boys during her summers off from teaching.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, and one hour prior to the services Saturday in the church. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday (Aug. 6), at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Lake Bruce, with Rev. John Mangum officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lake Bruce.
Memorial donations may be given to Riley Children's Hospital or Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
Helen J. Miller
February 27, 1917 to July 30, 2011
KEWANNA - Helen J. Miller, 94, of Kewanna passed away at 8:10 p.m., Saturday, July 30, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 27, 1917 near Lake Bruce in Pulaski County. On Jan. 6, 1936 she married Robert H. Miller. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1994.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth Miller and wife Barbara of Plymouth, Judith Mills Scott and husband John of Frankfort, Sandra Blume and husband Fred of Fallbrook, California and Ronald Miller and wife Ines of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, sister, Irene Miller of Mt. Morris, Michigan and brother, Vern Kissinger and wife Opal of Royal Center, grandchildren, Richard Miller, Randy Miller, Rod Miller, Traci Hilliard, Suzanne Crump, Nancy Gibson, Scott Mills, Eric Mills, Sherry Blume, Darren Blume and Ronald Miller, Jr., 20 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild with also one expecting. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Estella Engle, and sisters, Annabelle Reese, Nora Hattery and Catherine Kane.
Mrs. Miller was a 1935 Kewanna High School graduate. She was a farmer and homemaker. She was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church, Kewanna United Methodist Church Ladies Group, Rochester Rebekah Evergreen Lodge for over 75 years, Fulton County Farm Bureau, Fulton County Historical Society and she enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Kewanna Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday (Aug. 2), at Kewanna United Methodist Church with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Burial will be in Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna.
Memorial donations may be made to the Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery Association and/or Hope Hospice of Rochester.
