Richard A. Rabenau

WINAMAC - Richard A. Rabenau, 79, of 300 E. Culver Road, Knox, passed away at 10:34 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, at Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox.
He was born Dec. 25, 1930, in Canton, IL, to the Lester and Ruth Stockburger Rabenau. He married Carol Jean Karr on Aug. 9, 1952, in Tinley Park, IL. She died May 28, 2004.

Mr. Rabenau served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a detective for the Rock Island, the Illinois Central Gulf, and the Iowa Intersate Railroads. He was a member of the Pulaski Co Historical Society.

Jane R. Pries
June 29, 1918 to December 8, 2010
MEDARYVILLE - Jane R. Pries, 92, 1309 E. Grace St., Rensselaer, formerly of Medaryville, passed away at 10:45 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Rensselaer Care Center, Rensselaer.
She was born June 29, 1918 in Marbury, Ala., the daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Whitlock Herring. She married Hilmer V. Pries on Feb. 20, 1937, in Michigan City. He preceeded her in death 11 years ago.

Mrs. Pries was a former resident of New Buffalo, MI, and moved to Haines City, FL, following retirement. She was employed in clerical work. She moved to the Medaryville area in 1993.

Lillian Zahrt
November 22, 1913 to December 4, 2010
WINAMAC - Lillian M. Zahrt, 97, of 219 E. Main St., Winamac, passed away at 5:45 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.
She was born in Pulaski County on Nov. 22, 1913, the second of four children of the late Fred Wallace and Ethel Pha Meeks Knarr. She married George F. Zahrt on March 29, 1939. He died on April 20, 1991.

Mrs. Zahrt graduated from Winamac High School, and enjoyed a career at the First Union Bank. She and her husband operated George H. Zahrt Contract Carrier, which later became North Express, Inc. and also Tippecanoe Beverages, which observed its 56th anniversary this year. She was a life-long resident of Winamac, a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a charter member of the Federated Club, Tri Chi, for over 60 years.
Friends may call from 5 to7 p.m.,Thursday, at First United Methodist Church, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., (Thursday, Dec. 9), at the church with Rev. Matt Landry officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church, Winamac, or to the Salvation Army.

MEDARYVILLE - Helen C. Pingle, 80, of Medaryville, passed away at 11:37 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, in her residence.
She was born May 7, 1930, in Medaryville, to the late Gus and Clara Junge Pingle.

WINAMAC - Robert Daniel Guy, 63, of 7336 W 950 S, Winamac, passed away at 6:13 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
He was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Chicago, to James and Theresa Donat Guy. Hemarried Barbara A. Wierzbicki on July 12, 1969, in Chicago. She survives.

James Mauck
March 21, 1929 to November 29, 2010
WHEATFIELD - James C. Mauck, 81, Medaryville, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, at his home.
He was born March 21, 1929 in Chicago, the son of the late Clifford and Irene Grasy Mauk. He married Helen Gundy on Dec. 16, 1967 in Rensselaer. She survives.
Also surviving are children: Butch Walford, Diana and Doug Salyers, Marilyn and Courley Conley, Marty Wolford and special friend, Linda Risner, Ricky Wolford, 18 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 13 greatgreat-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents: James and Helen Mauck, one son: Eddy, one daughter: Evelyn, and one grandson: Edwin.
Mr. Mauck worked for King Manufacturing of Monon, and Sealy Spring in Rensselaer. He also served in the U.S. Army.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, from 4 until 8 p.m. (EST), at Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home (Wednesday, Dec. 1) at 7:30 p.m. (EST). Interment will be on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. (EST) at White Post Cemetery with a military graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Kenneth F. Stigall Sr.

WINAMAC - Kenneth Fount Stigall Sr., 88, of 6127 S 700 W, Winamac, passed away at 1:45 a.m., Monday, Nov. 29, in Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMott.
He was born May 27, 1922, in Burnside , KY, to the late Webster and Sally Garland Stigall. He married Helen M. Goble on Dec. 29, 1951, in Hammond. She survives.

Mr. Stigall was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was a member of both the Hammond and the Winamac Church of the Nazarene. He drove the Hammond First Church of the Nazarene church bus for 35 years. He was a member of VFW Post #1725, Hammond. He was a union carpenter and a member of Local #599, Hammond, for 55 years.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, WInamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday (Dec. 2), at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Brown of the Living Grace Church of the Nazarene, Merrillville, officiating. Burial will be in Paul's Chapel Cemetery, Winamac. The American Legion and the VFW will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial donations may be given to the Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMotte.
