Mary E. Swartzell

WINAMAC - Mary E. Swartzell, 84, of Winamac, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
She was born July 9, 1939 in Winamac to the late Joseph J. Sr. and Agnes G. [Braun] Nicolas. She graduated from Winamac High School in 1958, and married Donald R. Swartzell on July 5, 1958. He passed away Dec. 31, 2012.

Mrs. Swartzell was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Ladies of Charity. She enjoyed gardening and making crafts. She sold Stanley Home Products and made woven rugs for many years. Most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother who doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private graveside service will be held at Reed Cemetery in Winamac, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at the cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church or Reed Cemetery.
