Irene A. Dowling

March 21, 1923 to October 5, 2011

WINAMAC - Irene A. Dowling, 88, of Winamac, passed away at 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.

She was born March 21, 1923, in Lyons, OH, to the late Corbie and Erma Lutton Bixler. She married Dennis Dowling on Sept. 28, 1946 in Napoleon, OH. He survives. The couple recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Dowling was a Past-Noble Grand and former member of the Rebekah Lodge in Winamac, and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge in Jasper, MI and Elgin, IL. She worked at American Chain & Cable in Adrian, MI during World War II. She liked to fish and play BINGO. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and picking fruit. She traveled many places.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at Anderson Funeral Home, 305 W. Beecher Rd. Adrian, MI. The funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday (Oct. 9), at the funeral home with Pastor Curt Mortimer officiating. Burial will take place in the Lyon's Cemetery in Lyons, OH.
