William H. Mack Jr.

December 2, 1947 to October 2, 2023

WINAMAC - William Henry “Bill” Mack Jr., 75, of DeMotte (formerly of Winamac) passed away at 5:55 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.

He was born Dec. 2, 1947 in Mishawaka, to the late William Henry and Ruth Roseanna [Gee] Mack. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1965. The following year, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years, including 18 months in Korea. He received an honorable discharge on Nov. 6, 1969. He married Mary Beth Comer on March 5, 1972 in Lafayette. She passed away on Sept. 11, 2002.

Mr. Mack was a talented diesel mechanic, having worked at Patton Tractor in Hammond, as well as at Fair Oaks Farms and Bos Dairy both in Fair Oaks. Throughout his life, he enjoyed the outdoors and working on cars. Most of all, he loved his family very much, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 2 p.m. EDT (1 p.m. CDT) Saturday, Oct. 14, at Roselawn Cemetery in Roselawn. Burial will follow at the cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Medaryville Assembly of God Church.
