Lloyd H. Overmyer

March 5, 1925 to September 17, 2011

WINAMAC - Lloyd H. Overmyer, 86, Monterey, passed away at 6:06 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at his son Tim's residence in Monterey.

He was born March 5, 1925, in Monterey, the son of the late Frank and Grace Warmbrod Overmyer. He married Jean Griffin on Sept. 29, 1957, in Young America, IN. She passed away on Aug. 7, 1998.

Mr. Overmyer was a farmer. He was a lifetime resident of Monterey and was a graduate of Monterey High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II. He was Indiana State Rural Youth President in 1955. He was a 4-H leader for over 40 years.

He was also a member of the board of director's of Fulton County REMC for 15 years. He served as a member of the board of director's of the Pulaski County Farm Bureau Co-op for 25 years, and served on the Farm Bureau Inc. board. He was a former Tippecanoe Twp. Precinct Committeeman for the Pulaski County Republican Party for many years.

He spent most of his life as a farmer and retired from the Pulaski County Highway Department after 20
years. He was a member of the Ora Gospel Chapel where he taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Pulaski County Gideon Camp.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m.,  Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday (Sept. 22), at the funeral home with Bill Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Monterey. Military graveside services will be conducted.
