Shelby J. Moise
October 3, 1942 to August 14, 2022
WINAMAC - Shelby J. Moise, 79, of Rochester (formerly of Winamac), passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, at Hickory Creek in Rochester.
She was born Oct. 3, 1942 in Hazard, KY to the late Floyd and Maggie [Hurt] Hale. Her family moved to North Judson, in her youth. On Nov. 28, 1964, she married George R. Moise at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac. He passed away Nov. 11, 2012.

Mrs. Moise worked most of her life as a waitress. She met George while working behind the fountain counter at Stombaugh’s Drug Store in Winamac. She also worked at local classics like Fogarty’s, Wigwam, Colonial Inn, and Indian Head. She was a member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed going for walks, visiting with friends, going out for coffee, and doing puzzles. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hickory Creek in Rochester for their tender loving care of Shelby.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 21, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22, at the funeral home with Rev. David Broad officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pulaski Animal Center.
