WINAMAC - Kathleen Y. “Kathy” Hewitt-Hanna, 69, of Star City (formerly of Morocco, IN) passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, at Methodist Hospital Southlake Campus in Merrillville.

She was born May 11, 1952 to John and Barbara Elijah Williams. As a child, she attended Morocco Elementary School and Morocco Methodist Church. Her family later moved to New Mexico, where she completed high school. On Dec. 27, 2003, she married Jerry L. Hanna in Logansport. He survives.

She is also survived by:

Troy (Linda) Hewitt, Kansas City, KS, Son
2 Grandchildren: Madison and Elijah
3 Sisters: Patsy, Mary, and Jennifer
3 Brothers: Johnny, Donny, and Timmy

Mrs. Hewitt-Hanna graduated from beauty college and enjoyed being a beautician. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac. She had a soft spot for cats and dogs. She really enjoyed riding around in the lawn mower and golf cart. Most of all, she loved her family very much.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating. A fraveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Oakland Cemetery in Morocco, IN. Burial will be at the cemetery.
