Emma Jean Russell

May 14, 1923 to July 29, 2011

ROYAL CENTER - Emma Jean Russell, 88, of Royal Center passed away at 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 29, at St. Vincent’s Hospice in Indianapolis.

Born on May 14, 1923 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Milton A. and Clara R. (Graves) Warner. On Aug. 13, 1939 she married Max L. Russell. He survives

Also surviving are her children, Darwin “Doc” Russell and wife Jo of Winamac, Sandy Haselby and husband Wayne of Royal Center, Judy Rogers and husband Phil of Royal Center, Connie Frame and husband Stan of Royal Center, Ron Russell and wife Linda of Royal Center and Don Russell and wife Karol of Royal Center. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren with one on the way, 1 great-great-grandson, 2 step grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Edwin, Raymond and Neil Warner and one infant sister.

Mrs. Russell was a homemaker, and she retired in 1980 from Eaton Controls in Winamac after 15 years.
She was a member of Royal Center United Methodist Church and the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxillary. She enjoyed Cubs baseball, crocheting and meeting her friends at McDonald’s in Winamac.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday (Aug. 2), at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Drane officiating. Burial will be in Star City West Cemetery.
