Nina F. Ogden
February 9, 1928 to July 29, 2011
KEWANNA - Nina F. Ogden, 83 of Winamac, formerly of Kewanna, passed away at 12:58 p.m., Friday, July 29, at Pulaski Healthcare Center in Winamac.
Born Feb. 9, 1928 in Buffalo, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Harley and Sarah (Minnick) Ashlock.
Survivors include daughters, Celinda F. Briney and husband, Dave of Winamac and Sue E. Hardy and husband, Artavis of South Bend, son, John F. Surritte and wife, Linda of Lawrence, Kansas, and brother, Wesley D. Ashlock of Happy Jack, Arizona. Also surviving are grandchildren, Michelle Armbruster (John), Todd Surritte, Ryan Browning, Danielle Renbarger (Adam), Amanda Johnson (Beau), Nick Pavlov (Samantha) and Brandi Briney (Michael), and great grandchildren, Cody Browning, Lily Surritte, Luke Surritte, Matthew Morehouse and Kaylee Hayes (Justin).
She was also preceded in death by one son, Harley D. Surritte, brothers, Bill Ashlock and Leroy Ashlock and sister, Celinda Kelsey.
Mrs. Ogden had formerly worked for the Rochester City and Fulton County Police Departments where she was Dispatcher for 25 years. She also formerly worked at Rochester Telephone Company as an operator. She had also sold Avon for many years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Wichita, Kansas. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Kewanna Chapel and also one hour prior to the time of service on Wednesday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., (Wednesday, Aug. 3), at the funeral home with Harold Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Lake Bruce.
