FRANCESVILLE - Helen M. Overmyer, 87, of Francesville, passed away at 8:35 a.m., Monday, July 25, at Bickford Senior Living, Lafayette.

She was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Wolcott to the late William and Bessie Lockenour Farney. She married First Lt. Richard C. Overmyer on April 9, 1944 (Easter Sunday), in the First Christian Church, Francesville. Rev. Chester Parker officiated. Her husband passed away on Oct. 24, 1991.

Mrs. Overmyer graduated from Francesville High School in 1942. While her father served as Pulaski County Auditor, she served as a Deputy Auditor. In 1963 she became the bookkeeper at Francesville Drain Tile and was the co-owner with her husband. She remained president of the company until 2006. She was a very active member of the First Christian Church where she served in a number of positions over the years.

Helen and Richard enjoyed traveling all over the world together. She also enjoyed her time spent in Sarasota, FL. Among her favorites things were family gatherings and crossword puzzles. She loved to garden and home cook.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville, and one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday (July 29), at First Christian Church, Francesville, with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial donations may be given to the Francesville First Christian Church, Bickford Senior Living, or Guardian Angels Hospice.
