Patricia A. O'Donnell

March 17, 1937 to August 27, 2021

WINAMAC - Patricia A. “Patty” O’Donnell, 84, of Goodland (formerly of Winamac), passed away at 6:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 27, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.

She was born March 17, 1937 in Monterey, to the late Clement V. and Marjorie M. Prendergast Keller. She graduated from Holy Family School in 1951 and Monterey High School in 1955. She spent her life working as a registered nurse; having earned her degree from Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in 1958. She married John William O’Donnell (Sr.) on May 4, 1963, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey. He passed away April 27, 2006.

Mrs. O’Donnell worked for Dr. Eshelman in Monterey and then at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, where she retired after 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac, as well as the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Pulaski County Genealogy Society. She was an active participant at the Von Tobel Senior Center in Winamac. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, painting, reading, and landscaping. Most recently, she made pillow cases and quilts as keepsakes for her family members. She dearly loved family reunions and winning BINGO. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. A scriptural wake service will follow at 8 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. A Christian Mother’s service and rosary service will follow. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac, with Rev. Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church or Von Tobel Senior Center.
