FRANCESVILLE - M. Ellen Norman, 92, of Valparaiso, formerly of Monon, passed away at 3:28 p.m., Friday, July 15, at Whispering Pines Health Care Center, Valparaiso.

She was born Nov. 29, 1918, in Fowler, to the late Edward and Ellen Snavely Nightingale. She married Eldo Norman who died in July of 1976.

She was preceded in death by:
Dean Norman, Son
Marion Nightingale, Brother

Mrs. Norman was a member of the United Methodist Church in Monon. She was a former server at the Southside Cafe in Monon. She also cleaned several office spaces in Monon for many years. She had worked as a caretaker for the elderly. She took in washing and ironing for her friends and neighbors until the age of 88. She ran a catering service in Monon for several years. She was a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning and caring for others.

Friends may call after 10 a.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel-Francesville. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., Thursday (July 21), at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Birch officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Gilboa Cemetery, Fowler.
