Dorothy E. Patrick Coad
February 1, 1923 to January 27, 2021
WINAMAC - Dorothy Elizabeth Patrick Coad, 97, of Monterey, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, at her daughter’s home at Bass Lake.
She was born Feb. 1, 1923 in Chicago to the late Theodore and Mary Fiedler Schneider. Dorothy grew up during the Great Depression. Her family owned an eleven flat with a candy store at street level in Chicago and a peanut farm in San Pierre. When the depression hit, the family moved to San Pierre. In 1943, she married John Joseph Patrick. John (along with his father-in-law) built a home in Hessville, IN where the couple raised three children: Mary, Peggy, and Dorothy. After John passed away in 1955, Dorothy married the late Edward Coad. The family moved to Monterey and welcomed two more children: Edward and James.

The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 12, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey. Visitation will follow from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at the church. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m., (Friday, Feb. 12), at the church. Burial will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Monterey.
Memorial donations may be made in the form of Mass Intentions.
