Gerald L. Weaver

February 24, 1929 to December 31, 2020

WINAMAC - Gerald Lloyd Weaver, 91, of Winamac, passed away at 11:49 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, at Hickory Creek Healthcare in Winamac.

He was born Feb. 24, 1929 in Culver, to the late Owen M. and Anna M. Plotner Weaver. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Sept. 5, 1953, he married Shirley A. Schneider. She passed away June 16, 2004.

Mr. Weaver retired from Winamac Steel in 1993. In his retirement, he continued to work for Pulaski County Recycling and retired in 2019 at the age of 90. He was a lifetime member of the Winamac VFW Post #1728 and a longtime member of the Winamac Eagles #2580. He was also a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac. He enjoyed fishing (especially ice fishing), golfing, hunting, bowling, and working. He also enjoyed watching western movies and TV shows. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Private visitation will take place at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. A private funeral service will be held at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Private burial will be at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
