Marie E. Heinold

December 6, 1910 to May 29, 2011

VALPARAISO - Marie E. Wuethrich Heinold, 100, a former resident of Valparaiso and Francesville, passed away Sunday, May 29, at 5:30 a.m., at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton.

She was born in Woodford County, Illinois on Dec. 6, 1910, the fifth child of John and Mary Pelsy Wuethrich. She married Raymond F. Heinold on Oct. 10, 1937 and they resided in Valparaiso for over 50 years. He preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1985.

She is survived by one son, John Keith (Susan) Heinold of Valparaiso, and a daughter, Mary M. (Robert) Honegger of Ossian. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael (Sara) Heinold, Mindy McCormick, and Elizabeth Heinold of Valparaiso, Katherine (David) Miller of Kalispell, Montana, Janeen (Terry) Baum of Morton, IL, Darla Fiechter of Bluffton,  Corinne (Graig) Stettner and Adam Honegger of Ossian, Rob (Herty) Honegger of Columbus, Ohio,  Joseph (Jessica) Honegger of Austin, Texas, and Justin (Alissa) Honegger of Plainfield, as well as 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters: Bernice Houk of Peoria, IL, Nancy Klopfenstein of Leo, and Marjorie (Frederick) Hess of Valparaiso,  and one brother, Leon Wuethrich of Francesville.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Janet Rae Hari who passed away in July, 1988, and a son, Philip Duane Heinold in February of 2007. Three sisters Catherine Neihouser, Minerva Wuethrich, and Hortense Brenneman and three brothers, Herman Wuethrich, Joe Wuethrich, and John Wuethrich also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Heinold surrendered her heart to the Lord at the age of 19 and was baptized in 1931. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church for over 80 years. Before being married she was employed at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Fort Wayne. She worked with her husband at Heinold Oil Co., and also enjoyed homemaking, reading, quilting, gardening and entertaining guests in their home. 

Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., (CST) Wednesday, at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. The  funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday (June 2), at the Valparaiso Apostolic Christian Church, with viewing from 9:30 a.m. (CST).

Memorials may be made to Parkview Haven Retirement Home (Renovation Project) of Francesville, or Christian Care Retirement Community of Bluffton.
