John E. Fagan

April 23, 1943 to July 16, 2020

ROYAL CENTER - John E. Fagan, 77, of Star City, passed away at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, July 16, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru, He died peacefully, with his children’s blessings, after suffering multiple strokes in early June.

He was born April 23, 1943 in Star City, to the late Thomas and Mary Catherine Gilsinger Fagan.  He was a graduate of Pulaski High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Sister, Kathleen ‘Snook’ (Rick) Munn, Monticello
Sister, Madonna ‘Punk’ (James) Compton, Lafayette
Grandchildren: Kendelle Fagan, Jackson Fagan Kunka, Bree Fagan, and Ashley McCreedy.
Great-Grandchildren: Izabella McCreedy and Matthew Oliver.

Preceded in death by brothers William, Thomas and twin brother James Fagan.

Mr. Fagan was a hard worker and lifelong farmer in Star City with his brothers, known as “The Fagan Brothers.” He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski.  He was a proud father. He enjoyed anything old and collecting antiques. He will be missed by his longtime companion, Mary Pratt and their dog Patches. He will also be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 23, at Rans Funeral Home, 304 S Chicago St., Royal Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 24, at St Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski with Fr. Leroy Kinnaman officiating.  (Due to the state and county social distancing restrictions only 54 people will be allowed in the church for mass.) A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., at Bill & Babes in Pulaski. All are welcome.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pulaski/Winamac Catholic churches.
