Dean A. Gudeman
August 25, 1927 to January 20, 2020
FRANCESVILLE - Dean A. Gudeman, 92, of Monticello (formerly of Medaryville), passed away at 12:20 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 25, 1927 in Francesville, to the late Albert and Eliza Getz Gudeman. He graduated from Francesville High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. On March 30, 1952, he married Helen Klopfenstein in Bremen. They were married for 67 years. She survives.

Mr. Gudeman was a lifelong farmer, having started his own farm after returning from the service. He farmed in the Francesville and Medaryville areas where he established a loving home for his wife and four children. He enjoyed close interaction with each of his grandchildren. He loved his Lord and Savior and was a true man of God. He faithfully attended church with his family. He enjoyed singing and sang in different men’s quartets. He also served in various roles in his church. During his lifetime, he was a former member of the Apostolic Christian Church and Milroy Bible Church. He was currently a member of the Francesville First Baptist Church. His family appreciated his Christian example.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home with Pastors Dennis Gutwein and Nathan Braun officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
