FRANCESVILLE - Scott A. Shidler, 52, of Medaryville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, at his home.
He was born Nov. 9, 1966 in Lafayette, to Ralph and Elvira Gutwein Shidler. He graduated from West Central High School in 1985, received an associate's degree from Vincennes University.

Mr. Shidler had worked as a deputy for the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and as an EMT for Pulaski County EMS. He also had worked with his dad at Medaryville Hardware. He enjoyed serving others and was a hard worker. He was an avid IU basketball fan. He was a member of the Francesville Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was a loving and devoted son and brother. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating. Burial at Buck Cemetery in Thornhope will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or Francesville First Baptist Church.
