Owen Abbott

May 2, 2005 to December 5, 2018

WINAMAC - Owen Michael Abbott, 13, of Winamac, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 5, in Plymouth, as the result of a school bus accident.

He was born May 2, 2005 in Winamac to Dean Abbott Jr. and Britni Weldon. He was an eighth-grade student at Winamac Community Middle School.

Owen enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and playing sports. He was a member of the Pulaski County 4-H and was active in the shooting sports club. He played baseball for Star City Little League and was on the All-Star team every year. He was a member of the WCMS football team. He also enjoyed playing with his toy cars and playing Fortnite. Like so many teenage boys, he loved tractors, trucks and semis as well as playing backyard football with his friends and brothers (Parker and Casen). Owen is greatly loved by his family who will always remember his sweet smile, complete with dimples and freckles. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at the Winamac Church of the Heartland, and two hours prior to services at the church Tuesday. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Winamac Church of the Heartland with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery,  Winamac.
