Helen M. Wilson

September 22, 1942 to October 6, 2018

WINAMAC - Helen M. Wilson, 76, of Winamac, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 6, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Sept. 22, 1942 in LaCrosse, WI, to the late John and Marion Mathis Bisset. She was the oldest of nine children. She spent most of her youth in Chicago, and later resided in Cedar Lake. She and her former husband, Jerry Walter Horton, raised two daughters in Hammond. Prior to moving to Winamac in 2001, she had resided in Lake Station. She married Norbert R. "Norb" Wilson on Oct. 16, 2004 in Winamac. He survives.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First Baptist Church, Winamac. She served her church family and her Lord faithfully. She was active in the church choir and was a member of the Golden Gate Singers. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and was faithful to witness to others. She was a truly inspirational woman of faith. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time in the Winamac Park and Tippecanoe River State Park. She also enjoyed bowling and games, especially BINGO, puzzles and cards. She was a dedicated homemaker and talented cook. She was always willing to cook for her family, friends and church family. She loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile that inspired many to have hope and faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow 7:30 p.m., (Thursday), at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Pilger officiating. Private burial will be at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
