Richard J. Agee

September 17, 1943 to February 25, 2018

MONTICELLO - Richard J. Agee, Sr., 74, of Winamac, passed away at 11 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.

He was born Sept. 17, 1943 in Kentucky, to the late Willie F. and Julia M.(Bailey) Agee. On May 31, 1963 he married Delores J. Cottrell in Winamac, and she survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Tammy (Buck) Mathias of Buffalo; son, Richard (Darlene) Agee Jr. of Winamac; two brothers, Eardon Agee of North Judson and Jed (Dorothy) Agee of FL; four sisters, Peggy (Jerry) Mays of Winamac, Bonnie (Tom) Zimmerman of North Judson, Mae Agee of Winamac and Lorsie (Jimmie) Stone of North Judson; six grandchildren, Kyle (Ashlyn) Stephens, Nathan (Lexi) Stephens, Richard Agee III, Heather Agee, Austin Agee and Dalton Agee; and eight great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Riley Agee and two sisters, Dorothy Rose and Arlette Heise.

Mr. Agee worked at Hites Hardwood sawmill until his retirement. He loved to work on tractors, play games on the computer and go fishing. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his life. He was a wonderful family man.

The family will host a memorial service at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, at the Buffalo Fire Station.

Memorial donations may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
