Mary Cords Mann

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. - Mary Cords Mann, 68, passed away Friday, Feb. 4.
She was born in Winamac, and grew up in Francesville. She married Roger Manns who survives.
Also surviving are daughter Tracey Mann, son Mark Mann, sisters Karen Lind and Shirley Busch.
After her parents moved from Indiana to Phoenix, Mary graduated from Sunnyslope High School and subsequently began nursing school at the Good Samaritan nursing school in Phoenix. After her graduation and marriage, the couple moved to Laurel, Md. where she began her nursing career at the University of Maryland hospital In Baltimore under the tutelage of Dr. R Adams Cowley, founder of the Shock Trauma Unit at University Hospital. Her training there had a life-changing effect that eventually led to Mary's career as a Trauma ICU nurse at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix from 1981 until 2010.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday (Feb. 10), at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd, Scottsdale, AZ.
