Betty L. Polstra

September 17, 1934 to February 22, 2018

WINAMAC - Betty Louise Polstra, 83, of Star City, passed away at 1:38 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

She was born Sept. 17, 1934 in Winamac to the late Forrest "Frosty" and Elizabeth " Liz" Sera Button. She graduated from Winamac High School in 1951. On Oct. 4, 1953, she married the late Gerald "Jerry" Polstra in Winamac.

6 Great Grandchildren: Kale Federer, Tanner Federer, Wren Mitchell, Payte Cody, Julian Polstra, Jenna Polstra and Ashton Polstra

Mrs. Polstra had worked as a phone operator at United Telephone Co., as a receptionist at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, and did alterations at Winamac Cleaners and Snow White Laundry. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the Pulaski County Public Library Board. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and visiting with friends at Oak Grove. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Richards officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 3, at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.
