D. Jane Chambers

November 3, 1916 to February 3, 2011

ROYAL CENTER - Dorothy Jane Chambers, 94 of Star City, passed away at 1:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, at White Oak Healthcare Center in Monticello.

Born Nov. 3, 1916 in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Bess (Schorman) Yester. On Dec. 4, 1937, she married Harold Ray Chambers and he preceded her in death Oct. 8, 2006.

Survivors include her son, Roger L. Chambers and wife, Rita of Martinsville, daughters, Janice C. Taylor and Barbara S. Allen and husband, Dean, all of Star City, 12 grandchildren, Frank Taylor & wife, Lesa; Charles Taylor & wife, Sue; Tina Newton & husband, Claude; John Taylor & wife, Linda; Pamela Fox & husband, Steve; Patti Moore & husband, James; Rhonda Cashan & husband, Terry; Nathan Chambers & wife, Tina; Karen Chambers; Jim Allen & wife, Chandra; Janette Moore & husband, Chris; Anita Caskey & husband, Nathan. She is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald G. Yester and Albert Yester, sister, Betty L. Quinn and son-in-law, Frank Taylor.

Mrs. Chambers was a graduate of Dayton High School in Dayton, Ky. She was a homemaker and she also retired from Trans America Insurance Company in Indianapolis. She was a member of Shiloh Christian Church in Logansport and a former member of Order of Eastern Star in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday (Feb. 12), at the funeral home. Burial will be inPro Cemetery in Headlee.
