WINAMAC - Doris Dilts, 90, of 624 E. 13th St., Winamac, died at 6:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.
She was born Oct. 30, 1919, in O'Fallon, IL, to Roy and Jane Carr Alexander. She married John A. Dilts on April 27, 1946 at O'Fallon, IL. He died July 3, 1981.

Mrs. Dilts graduated from O'Fallon High School in O'Fallon, IL and from Rubrcam Business College in St. Louis. During World War II she worked as a secretary in headquarters at Scott Field, (now Scott Air Force Base). It was there that she met her husband John. Rev. Leo Smith married them in the base chapel. She had been employed as a secretary at Singer Controls, (later Eaton Corp) in Winamac for 26 years. After retiring from Eaton, she worked for Beach Real Estate and the Winamac TV Cable Co. for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Winamac and had served on the Parish Council. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, and Ladies of Charity. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, American Legion Auxillary and Delta Sigma Tau Social Sorority.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary. A scriptural wake service will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday (April 16), At St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Martin Sandhage and Rev. Bert Woolson officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.
