Patricia J. Hunt

March 1, 1931 to December 22, 2016

MONTICELLO - Patricia "Pat" June Hunt, 85, Star City, passed away at 8:50 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, at her home, surrounded by her family. She had been in failing health for the last several months.

She was born March 1, 1931, in Buffalo, to the late David and Nina (Imler) Nordyke. On March 4, 1951, at the White Methodist Church in Buffalo, she married Robert "Bob" Hunt; he survives. They were married 65 years.

Also surviving are son, Mikeal (Carol) Hunt, Wilmington, Del.; daughter, Susan Hunt, Kokomo; grandchildren, Jennifer Hineline, Fairmont, Pa., Johnathan Porter, Corbin, Ky., Christopher Porter, Kissimmee, Fla., Rebekah Aloe, Avoca, Pa., and Christina Butler, Wilmington, Del.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The Star City home where Mrs. Hunt and her husband lived, is the same home she grew up in. She was very proud that the farm has been in the family for over 100 years. She was raised by her grandmother, having lost her mother at only 10 days old. She was one of 12 children. She had a deep faith in the Lord, reading her scripture daily.She loved spending time in her flower garden. Family was very important to her, and she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. A celebration of life service will follow at 1 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Messer of the Zion Bethel Church of Monticello officiating. Burial will follow at the Buffalo Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Zion Bethel Church of Monticello. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
