RENSSELAER - Edwin James Reed, Jr., 43, of Remington, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, at his home.

He was born in Rensselaer on July 15, 1973. He attended school at North White and West Central. He played football and ran track in high school. On March 30, 2016, in Medaryville, he married Mary R. Edwards. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother Edna Lou Ann Cooper and step-father Albert Cooper of Mt. Ayr; two daughters, Heaven’Lee Beckner of Russell Springs, Ky. and Rebecca Becher of Florida; one son, Daniel Minix of Remington; one granddaughter, Ella Becher of Florida; one brother, Bryan D. Carter; one sister, Donna “Missy” Marie (Luttrell) Stiltz; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Reed enjoyed watching NASCAR, dancing, singing, drawing, and working on cars. He was a loving husband, son, and uncle. He will be remembered for having a very warm heart.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. (CT), Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. (CT), Thursday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home with Rev. Brent Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Koster Cemetery, Francesville.
