WINAMAC - Christine "Tina" Shires, 41, of Winamac passed away at 11:03 a.m., Sunday Dec. 18, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born March 7, 1975 in Evansville to Allen and Linda Adler Schmitt. On Oct. 9, 1998, she married Sylvester "Syl" Shires in Winamac. He survives.

She is also survived by: 
Michael Schmitt, Monticello, Son 
Selena Shires, Winamac, Daughter 
Adrianna "AJ" Shires, Winamac, Daughter 
Linda Schmitt Haubstadt, Mother 
Greg Schmitt, Poseyville, Brother 

Preceded in death by: 
Allen Schmitt, Father 

Mrs. Shires was a graduate of Mater Dei High School in Evansville and had worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of the Catholic faith and attended St. Peter's Church in Winamac. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20 at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A funeral mass will follow at 1 p.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery,Winamac.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in the form of Mass Intentions or to the family to establish an education fund for her daughters.
