John H. Crawford

WINAMAC - John Harvey Crawford, 80, of 222 N. Riverside Drive, Winamc, died at 5 p.m., at Hickory Creek, Winamac.
He was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Battle Creek, Mich. to Otho W. Crawford and Lula D. Emerson Crawford. He married Florence I. Schultz in Star City, on Aug. 26, 1950. She died March 26, 2001.

Mr. Crawford had worked at Eaton Controls for many years and had also been a farmer. He was an insurance agent for MFA Insurance Company. In his earlier years, he worked for his father's family business raising turkeys and chickens. He served on the Winamac Town Board for several years. He helped to organize the Winamac Jaycee Club and served as the club's first president.
For over 60 years John and Florence enjoyed the company of their best friends Dr. Jack & Bonnie Hill of Hardinsburg, IN and Bob & Beverly Clay of Inverness, FL.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday (Jan. 20), at the funeral home with Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating. Burial will be in Star City West Cemetery, Star City.
Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
