September 28, 1932 to July 4, 2016

FRANCESVILLE - Phyllis June Cords, 83, of Francesville, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Monday, July 4, at Franciscan Health Hospital in Rensselaer. 

She was born Sept. 28, 1932 in Francesville to the late James and Mary Belle Harper Steffel. On April 20, 1952, she married Richard Cords in Francesville. He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1999.

Survivors include:

Daughter Cindy (Rudy) DeSabatine, Winamac; Son Roger Cords, Francesville; grandchildren Chad (Karen) Clark, Yukon, OK, Austin (Heather) Clark, Winamac; great-grandchildren Makani Clark, Malii Clark; and sister-in-law Carolyn Cords, Francesville.

Preceded in death by:

Son-in-law Don Clark, 3 Sisters and 4 Brothers 

Mrs. Cords graduated from Francesville High School in 1950. She was an avid IU Basketball fan. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be at 3p.m., Friday, July 8, at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville, with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial donations may be given to an education fund established at Alliance Bank for her great granddaughters.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville.
