WINAMAC - Jean Marie "Jeanne" Houin, 69, of Winamac, died Monday, Nov. 9, at her residence. 

She was born June 3, 1946 in Winamac.

As a young girl, Mrs. Houin was an accomplished baton twirler and won many awards. She worked as a school teacher at St. Michael's School in Plymouth, for several years. She also had worked for Clara's Tax Service in Winamac for 15 years and as a bookeeper and secretary for the Roudebush Company and Moss Creek Golf Club. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She had served as the church organist at St. Michael's and St. Peter's churches for several years. She loved music very much. She also loved to bowl and dance. She especialy enjoyed working in her yard. She was a past member of Kiwanis, Moose Lodge, and VFW Auxiliary. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. and a scriptural wake service will be at 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association or Pulaski County Community Foundation for the Earl D. Roudebush Scholarship Fund.
