FRANCESVILLE - Doris Burroughs, 98, passed away March 12, 2015 in Crete, Ill.

She was born on March 23, 1916 in Monon. On Dec 31, 1939 she married Harry A. Burroughs at the Methodist church in Monon.

She is survived by her three children, Michael Wallace, Harry Bruce and Lena Kristine (Welden), as well as seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Burroughs graduated from Monon High School in June 1934. Following her marriage, the couple moved to Highland, where she spent most of her adult life working as both a dance instructor and a kitchen designer. After the death of her husband, she moved to Tifton, Ga. and finally to Lansing, Ill.

A graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept.18, at Helfrich Cemetery, Monon. Burial of cremated remains will follow.
