Randall "Keith" Hardesty
December 12, 1948 to August 30, 2015
VALPARAISO - Randall “Keith” Hardesty, 66, of Winamac, formerly of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, with family by his side.
He was born Dec. 12, 1948 to Donald W. and Charlotte M. (Bacia) Hardesty.
On Nov. 1, 2008 he married Betty Gordon who survives, along with his children: Joshua (Tina) Hardesty of Valparaiso, Rachel (Tom) Underwood of Valparaiso, step-children: Chris (Cari) Richards, Bob (Patty) Richards, Janice (John) Denham, Sarah (Rich) Anderson, sister, Donna (Larry) Dankoff of Kouts, granddaughters: Maile Hardesty and Hannah Raye and nine step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hardesty graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1967. He was a member of Garyton Covenant Church in Portage. He enjoyed target shooting as a longtime member of the NRA, fishing and working with his model trains. He had been a welder with NIPSCO for over 20 years retiring in 2006.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Thursday, at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with funeral service folloing at 6 p.m. (CT). Rev. Carol Nordstrom will officiate, and cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County.
