Shirley M. Bowen

June 24, 1920 to July 25, 2015

WINAMAC - Services have been set for Shirley Mae Bowen, 95, of Glendale, AZ (formerly of Winamac) who passed away Saturday, July 25.

She was born on June 24, 1920 in Shamokin, PA to the late Alvin Harold and Emma Viola Shallick Jones. She married Marvin Floyd Bowen on Nov. 16, 1944 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1985.

Survivors include:
Marvin R. (Sharon) Bowen, Glendale, AZ, Son 

Grandchildren: Jason (Vickie) Bowen, Glendale, AZ; Brian (Sheri) Bowen, Blue Ridge, VA; and Amanda (Caleb) Thompson, Beavercreek, OH 
10 Great Grandchildren: Taylor, Hannah, Justin, Ashley, Matthew, Jonathan, Brynn, Sophie, Christabel, and Josiah. 
Florence Heitzman, Sister; Jack Jones(Cora Ellen), Brother; Erma Lorenz, Step-Sister; Margaret Jones, Sister-In-Law; Becky Bowen, Sister-In-Law.

Preceded in death by: 

Paul Harvey Bowen, Son; Faye Jones, Sister; Edward Jones, Brother; Betty Long, Sister; Alvin Jones, Brother.

Mrs. Bowen was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Class of 1943. She was a musician, musical instructor, and homemaker. Over the years, she served as the organist at several local churches. She enjoyed poetry and reading Heartsong Books. She was a member of Bethel Bible Church, Winamac. She had been active with the Pulaski County Council on Aging and the Von Tobel Senior Center in Winamac, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary in Chicago. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed. 

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 5, at Bethel Bible Church, Winamac. Burial of cremated remains will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac, following services.

Memorial donations may be given to Bethel Bible Church Missions Fund.
