Lowell R. Podell

August 19, 1919 to March 27, 2015

WINAMAC - Lowell R. Podell, 95, of Winamac, passed away at 10:30 p.m., Friday, March 27, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.

He was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Winamac, to the late Theodore and Mary Dressler Podell. He married Helen F. Timmon on June 6, 1942, in Hammond. She passed away Dec. 1, 2008.

Mr. Podell was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Denham, where he had served as an elder. He was a retired farmer and had lived his entire life on the family farm. He enjoyed gardening and was always sharing his watermelons with the neighbors. He loved to take fishing trips to Canada with his family. He was a former 4-H leader and former member of the Pulaski County Fair Board. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 3, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Fakih officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Denham.
