Walter J. Davis

November 2, 1939 to January 2, 2015

WINAMAC - Walter James "Jim" Davis, 75, Monterey, died at 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2015 at his home in Monterey.

He was born Nov, 2, 1939 in Lawton. He was the son of the late Arthur Raymond "Jim" Davis and Gladys Burkett Davis. On June 18, 1987, he married Lorene D. Cooper Davis, who preceded him in death on Oct, 22, 2008.

Survivors include:

Daughter Shawnna (Cyrus) Dillinger, Auburn; son Tim Davis, Monterey; step-sons Tom Kasch, Logansport, and James Kasch, Jacksonville, N. C.; and sister Dorothy Morgan, Francesville. He had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Davis and David Davis.

Mr. Davis was employed at Plymouth Tube in Winamac where he worked for 35 years before his retirement. He loved sports including baseball, basketball, football, bowling, and NASCAR. His best friend was his dog, "BEAR." He was a member of the VFW Auxillary and the Eagles.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and one hour before services on Wednesday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home. Pastor Bill Guerin will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Monterey.
