John E. Miller

January 18, 1918 to October 23, 2014

WINAMAC - John E. Miller, 96, Pulaski, passed away at 1:42 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

He was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Pulaski, to the late Edward J. and Josephine Russell Miller.

Dorothy Miller, Sister 
Richard Miller, Brother 

Mr. Miller spent his entire life in Pulaski. He graduated from Pulaski High School and then he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his time in the service he became a guard at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City. He retired from there after 36 years. He was a member and tireless volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski. He was also of the Holy Name Society. He always raised chickens, and he enjoyed being outdoors taking care of his flowers and yard. He will always be remembered for his care and concern for the neighborhood children. Mr. Miller was very proud of his 1916 Model T which his great nephew is restoring.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pulaski, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery West, Pulaski , at a later date.

Memorial donatons may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
